    Como vs Vado- HELP!

I got my new Vado 4 a couple of weeks ago and have ridden 20-35 miles a day every day since. My afternoon bike rides are probably the only thing keeping me sane right now. Crimson was my first choice and is what I got, but I would have been happy with any color. I just wanted the bike. Congrats!!

Which frame lock mounts to the Specialized Turbo factory mounts?

Yes, I came to the same conclusion. I decided one more key in my life was not a bad price to pay.

Which frame lock mounts to the Specialized Turbo factory mounts?

Boy, this thread is popping up all over the place. I just asked the same question last week. Sierratim gave excellent and clear instructions about how he did some minor adaptions to fit the Abus 4960 to a Vado on the thread that I started. You can search for that. It was literally just last...

Abus Cafe Lock Advice for Vado

Whoa! Sierratim! Very clear guidelines. Just ordered the Abus 4960. Thanks so much!!

Abus Cafe Lock Advice for Vado

Oh Sierratim, how hard was it to widen the holes on the 4960? Is the steel on the lock soft enough that you can just drill it? Thanks in advance!

Abus Cafe Lock Advice for Vado

It sounded cool to have fewer keys, but I think I'll take the path that Sierratim took and just get the Abus 4960. It's only $39 on Amazon. I was thinking about reaching out to Court's friends at ElectriCity bikes in DC. It sounds like they know the answers. But there's so much craziness...

Abus Cafe Lock Advice for Vado

I'm one of many people who have taken advantage of the Specialized Spring Vado 4 sale. Within this forum there are a number of threads that touch on Abus Cafe Lock and Vado's. Perhaps I'm a dim bulb, but I'm not seeing what exact model of Abus Cafe Lock fits a Vado 4? Most everyone is saying...

    Finally got a Vado 4

Well it took a while, but I finally got my 2020 Vado 4 on Wednesday. I feel really lucky to have pulled this off with all of the craziness happening in the world right now and also having been able to take advantage of Specialize's big spring sale. Many of you were extremely helpful in giving me...

Have you ridden a Vado with no pedal assist?

Well Stefan Mikes, you've found me out! I've got a pile of bad habits! And I'll only admit to some of them publicly. Like abusing the throttle on my RadCity! Be safe my friend!! It's a crazy world out there right now!!

Have you ridden a Vado with no pedal assist?

Trying to navigate all of this through the global pandemic is definitely slowing things down, but I rented a Vado 3 from my LBS shop for 3 days to get a real feel for the bike. I went for a 25 mile ride yesterday. It was so interesting. Right now I've got a RadCity with a hub motor. I'm not...

    Justifiable in New England?

You've said you've never ridden an e-bike. A lot of local bike shops will rent them before purchasing and the rental cost will go towards the purchase. My advice is do your research. Make your best guess about what bike is best for you, then rent at least a couple of different models for at...

Have you ridden a Vado with no pedal assist?

Okay, thanks everyone! That answers that. I've got a Rad City with a hub motor and am upgrading to a higher quality bike. The Rad's hub motor creates serious drag with zero pedal assist. Combined with being heavy, like all ebikes, makes it be especially painful. One of the reasons that I've...

Have you ridden a Vado with no pedal assist?

I'm curious have any of you ridden your Vado's with no pedal assist at all? How far have you gone? Is it like a regular bike then or is there noticeable drag? Final question. If you miscalculate your range, can you ride a Vado with a totally dead battery? Things are changing every day, but I'm...

Looking for a mid-drive commuter ebike under $2500

I'm sure Velofix is awesome if you live in a location that they service. I live in rural New England. For me, the nearest Velofix dealer is a 3 hour drive. All I'm saying is I wish I would have thought about that before I bought my bike and was recommending that Ketchum be smarter than me and do...

Looking for a mid-drive commuter ebike under $2500

I'm not sure that you've really asked the right question? I think there's way, way more questions to ask. Why do you think you need a mid drive motor? Have you ridden different e-bikes to feel a difference between a mid-drive and a hub motor, or are you just reading reviews? (reading reviews...

    Are Vado's Cursed?

Stefan Mikes, since I've started following this forum, multiple members have said, do whatever Stephan Mikes says. He knows his stuff. I want to specifically thank you. Your input is truly wise. At some previous post that you made doing the math to convert cadence into something that was both...

    Are Vado's Cursed?

One of the things that has completely blown me away since I've started exploring e-bikes on this forum is how many gazillions of different manufacturers of e-bikes that there are. Looking at all of Court's reviews, there's probably hundreds of e-bike manufacturers. Way, way, more than what Trek...

    Are Vado's Cursed?

I've been gearing up to buy a Vado in April. In my rural area, it's a choice between Specialized and Trek. I really want an e-bike that can be serviced locally. I've always been a Trek guy, but it seems like Specialized right now beats out Trek at least in the commuter e-bike category. I've...

    Radcity direct drive

I looked and there is a Velofix person a few hours away. Truthfully, that's closer than I thought.
