    Bosch display cable extension?

I found enough cable slack inside the down tube where all the cables are harnessed and was able to pull just enough length needed to mount the controller on my Jones Bar. Removing the battery from the belly of the down tube and the cables were all there, tucked along …

    Bosch display cable extension?

I need an extension, but female on one end. Swapping handlebars, and the controller does not quite reach. I looked at what 365 Cycles has to offer, but they’re all male on both ends. Where else can I look? I‘d hate to swap out the entire length of cable which is routed from inside the head...

Poll - Did you upgrade from Cadence Sensing to Torque Sensing?

Ok, newbie question: I recently purchased my first ever e-bike and I think it has a torque sensor as I feel the pedal assist kick in almost immediately as I increase my pedal input. It’s a mid drive Bosch Performance Line CX motor. Am I correct in my assumption?

Pannier bags that fit Jansno X-50

Large handlebar bags or roll bag cradles sometimes work, depending on your cable routing. They never worked for me, unless you have extra long cables that looped over and in front of the bag. Most of these bags end up pressing and sometimes kinking the cables against the head tube. I use...

Pannier bags that fit Jansno X-50

I don’t see how that Sigtuna rack will mount on your rear triangle. That rack is designed for a conventional rear triangle with eyelets at the dropouts and seat stays. Also, as far as camping gear goes, you essentially need backpacking gear, not car camping gear, especially when it comes to...

How Do You Carry Your Tools?

I carry my essential tools and parts in my frame bag.

Pannier bags that fit Jansno X-50

I looked at the rack. It’s mainly designed to strap something on top. A standard set of panniers will just loosely hang from the rack, and will sway from side to side, interfering with the rear wheel or mud guard unless you can rig some sort of lateral support between the panniers. I bikepack...

Show us pictures of where you ride your ebikes!

I rode out to West Forf Trail Camp for a quick weekend overnighter in my local mountains. Just a short, 10 mile, out and back fire road ride to camp, while my backpacking buddies hiked on an adjacent foot trail. This is in the San Gabriel Mountains in the Los Angeles area. 1,700 ft...

    My first e-bike build

So, here is my new bike, with a few changes and additions I’ve made so far. Significant changes I’ve made so far to the bike are swapping out the stock 42 ring for a 34, and swapping out the stock 170 cranks for 155’s.

Pathlite ON 5 SUV wheel size?

I can already see my alloy chainrings wearing way quicker than my cogs…. Lol..

Pathlite ON 5 SUV wheel size?

Thank you… You bring up a good point. I’m forgetting that this is an e-bike.. LOL.. Good thing is I have a bunch of 104 BCD 1x rings I can further experiment with as the stock chainring was mounted on a 104 BCD spider.

Pathlite ON 5 SUV wheel size?

Yes, but on this bike top speed is not important. Bike will always be loaded with panniers, mostly ridden on dirt or gravel fire roads. 34x11 yields about 85 gear inches which is plenty high enough for me.

Pathlite ON 5 SUV wheel size?

Installed a 34 ring and took it for a spin. Much better, I get better use of the cassette range now. Still waiting on the shorter cranks. I’ll also be installing an Aeroe dry bag cradle over the front fender.

    Thinking outside the pannier

I use molle gear as well… pouches, dump bags, bottle carrier, etc. Most adapt and compliment bikepacking carriers.

Pathlite ON 5 SUV wheel size?

So, I got the bike delivered last week, assembled it, installed my own pedals and an old Brooks saddle, and took it out for a spin a couple times. Never having ridden an e-bike before, I really didn’t know what to expect. But so far, so good, I like it, and the amount of assist I feel just...

    E-Bikes On Legal, Paved Trails

I prefer to ride on dirt fire roads to a trail camp for overnight camping. If I’m not hauling a load of camping gear, I use my regular bike.

    Which Crank Puller?

Wait. You can’t insert the tool unless you remove the bolt first. Edit: I take that back. Actually, you can, over a plain crank bolt.

    Which Crank Puller?

This is the video I followed: There are other videos that show using a perfectly sized nut as a stopper to push the spindle. That would probably be easier..

    Which Crank Puller?

I thought of doing that at first, but couldn’t find anything perfectly sized, then I saw that video.
