Tucson, AZ, ban on ebikes riding the Loop

It's been awhile since anyone has mentioned the Loop in Tucson. Several websites state that you can ride ebikes on the Loop. That is partially true. A radio station posted online that Arizona passed House Bill 2266 that states that electric bikes will be treated the same as a normal bicycle and...

A lock for my new ebike

I have the ABUS Bordo folding locks with the alarms. I installed additional motion alarms on the bikes. I also have a couple of the Tex Lock 2.0 with the larger X-Lock. Saw a couple of vids online of people defeating the various bike locks. The Tex Lock took awhile (over 4 minutes). Given enough...

Looking for loop rides in the Southwest

In AZ you can order a replacement plate for a small fee, i.e., $5. Mine even came with the current registration decal. Check your MVD website to see if you can order one.

    Tailbone soreness problem solved

Thanks for posting that. Will be ordering one. I put Cloud 9 seats on my cruisers after reading/watching great reviews. However... they are not working out for me. Bigger, softer seats don't necessarily make for a more "comfortable" ride especially for "larger boned" people.

    New Ride1Up Cafe Cruiser

New model from Ride1Up, the Cafe Cruiser. I saw this in an online article the other day. Since I like the cruiser style ebikes I thought I would post this here. Interesting design. https://ride1up.com/product/cruiser/

    hi everyone

Welcome, s-k! I’m up in the “valley”. I plan on making a trip down there before it gets too hot to check out paved trails there for a change of scenery. I heard ebikes weren’t allowed on the ‘Loop. Is that true? Addendum: I just found the ‘Tusconloop.org website. Ebikes are allowed if they have...

    Your e-bikes

How wide is the spacing of the rear wheels? Where I live the bike lanes are about 24 inches wide.

    Your e-bikes

That’s a good way to have company while riding (and help with the harder parts of a ride). Nice setup.

    Your e-bikes

Photos of where people ride their ebikes with maps and routes. OP wants to see other member's bikes. I'm interested in seeing what others are riding along with upgrades and mods. The "travel" photos are nice to see but the maps and routes do little for those who don't live there or travel the...

    Starting my ebike purchase journey

Personally, I would spend the $ and go for the bigger battery. More range. After riding a bit you will find yourself going on longer rides. Good to have the extra range. You can accessorize it later as time and $ allow. Plenty of rear bike racks and lights available.

Setting up hoist and repair stand

Definitely makes it easier to get these heavy ebikes into the repair stands. I stepped up my game and got a portable Warn electric winch. I have the same repair stand and it works quite well.

    Cleaning e bike

Just some good detail spray for the frame and rims with a microfiber towel. If needed some non-corrosive degreaser for the mechanicals with some detail brushes and rags. Remember to relube the mechanicals.

    Cleaning e bike

Some auto detailing brushes help a bunch for the tight spots.

    Cleaning e bike

I use the same auto detail spray I use on my vehicles for the bikes to keep them looking nice and shiny. I found that Simple Green Bike cleaner works well with the mechanicals. Non corrosive too.

    Comfortable and cushy handgrips?

I had problems with my hands going numb after several miles of riding (Cruiser Style). I bought a pair of Ergon GP1 BioKork grips and have been very happy with them since I installed them. Bought a second pair for my other ebike. Nice cushioning and flat area to rest my palms.Looks good too...

    Handlebar grips and mirrors

There are a multitude of grips available so it would be hard to say which would be best for your wife and her ebike. I do prefer the lock on style grips with removeable end plugs. Hafny mirrors have a very good selection of different styles of mirrors and they get high ratings from users. I went...
