Cassette Replacement, Or You Can Teach An Old Dog New Tricks :)

Barging in with some comments after the fact. Feel free to ignore me! The recommended tightening torque on the lock ring is usually pretty high, 40 NM or so. Can you tell if you got near to that? I have a beam-style torque wrench for that purpose. Looks like the head of your cassette wrench...

    Firmware update for charging limit

Maybe the better question is, has anyone NOT gotten stuck in 100% charge mode? It feels like the feature is "works once or twice, and then good luck!!" So it's been 5 months that Specialized has known about this problem, and still there's no fix. That's weak. It doesn't help that I'm...

    Firmware update for charging limit

I just hit "stuck in 100% charge mode" this week. I'll try the workaround from Axis. Has anyone else been able to get unstuck?

[FIXED] Wahoo ELEMNT GPS Bike Computers Have Gone Mad Post The Latest Firmware Update, E-Bike Connection

I appreciate your comments. I have a 2022 with mastermind TCU, and just today I was rewarded with double miles for my efforts. So from me, at least, the answer to your question is yes. On another thread I saw where an Orbea owner has a Bolt that is reporting assist levels as 0, 2...

[FIXED] Wahoo ELEMNT GPS Bike Computers Have Gone Mad Post The Latest Firmware Update, E-Bike Connection

Ugh. I’m really itching for this to be resolved, and in my mind all the predictable questions are coming up: 1. Why is it taking so long? It was working before. No doubt it’s more complicated than it looks to an outsider like me, but still… 2. What is their testing process that overlooked this...

Issue with e-bike info on a Wahoo Bolt

Take a look at this thread if you haven't already. Unfortunately a recent (August 9?) Wahoo update causes some e-bike numbers to display as double the correct value. Sounds like that's what's happening here, although you are the first to mention assist level! Wahoo says they are working on the...

Bent hanger / bent derailleur / something else?

A friend says he was sailing in the Bahamas, more or less on the cheap, and came across the gathering for the wedding of Sergey Brin (founder of Google) ... lots of very high rollers. A bold member of my friend's group approached one of them and asked, "What's it like to be so rich?" The...

    New Spec App?

Sounds likely. Worse, does the S app do things that neither MC nor Ride can do? If so, you need all three to have all possible features. If not, I see reason to have it until it catches up to MC. On the bright side, it's worth every penny you pay for it.

What size chain for Specialized Turbo Creo

My Turbo Creo came with 114 links. It works, although I have wondered whether 116 would be better. I agree it's a good idea to count to make sure.

    New Spec App?

Seems like I read somewhere that Spec has been planning to merge Mission Control and Ride. Maybe this is it.

    New Spec App?

Looks like the Specialized web site is announcing a new app for their turbo e bikes https://www.specialized.com/us/en/stories/app Anyone use it yet? Is it mostly Mission Control with updated interface or something more?

    50T Creo Chainring

I'm a spinner and often go as high as 90rpm ... and if I hit 30+mph on a descent I'm probably going to coast. And yes, a really large chainring would rub against the drive side chainstay. Finding the max. could be tricky. 130 teeth almost touches the pavement.

    50T Creo Chainring

Take a look around on the web. Searching for bike parts can be fun, and you learn about brands, specs, and what's available. For your case I noticed: Maybe Garbaruk https://www.garbaruk.com/110-bcd-5-bolt-round.html?category=5 Garb. has a reputation for good quality, but in my experience...

OK, that's answered. Now, what will happen if I hit myself on the head with a hammer?

Correct chain length on Turbo Creo SL?

My Creo also came with 114 links. I guess I'm repeating, but the image you show from Park is for checking whether the chain is too short. It represents the maximum angle of the derailleur. Your post seems to say you used this image to decide your chain was too long. But that maximum angle is...

Correct chain length on Turbo Creo SL?

JRA has a point. To check whether a chain is too long, shift to the smallest cog(s) and see if the derailleur takes up the slack properly. The position in the photos above is for checking whether the chain is too short. IMO the 112-link photo looks short. To judge whether 114 links is too...

My chain is jumping off the chain ring on my Creo

Jeremy, I would add Q3: Out of what's available today, is narrow-wide more effective than wavy? I have no doubt there is a chain drop problem, if only because manufacturers have bothered to make narrow-wide and wavy chain rings and ship them as original equipment. It seems like depending on...

My chain is jumping off the chain ring on my Creo

Sounds like your headset is ok. Mine keeps working a bit loose, for some reason. I don't want to over tighten the lock screws, but maybe I'm being too gentle. Unfortunately I can't help you with the guide position. My smaller chain ring is smaller than either of the position labels, so I put...

My chain is jumping off the chain ring on my Creo

Fork movement?? Ideally the fork should not move at all. Sounds like your headset is loose. Check out this video: Also, for all chain droppers: Is this only a problem with Praxis chain rings, or do other brands do it? When I decided to go with a smaller ring I bought a wide/narrow one...
