    Stranded on remote trail

No mention was made of the bike or the relative fitness of the woman. I would think the she would have been able to pedal at least part of that 20 miles. However, the story does reinforce what many of us already know. Whether it's an e-bike or a conventional model, IMO, it's common sense to...

    Pedego city commuter battery

Welcome to the forum! As for question one, yes, I've used a 48V Pedego battery on a 52V bike. You may find that 48V battery is really 52V since Pedego used to rate their older 52V batteries as 48V. I would check the voltage with a meter to be sure. If it is actually 48V, I would not charge it...

    Calling all math majors

It's only a guess but I would think there is some allowable variation with the input voltage. Most 12V devices are designed to work in vehicles where the alternator varies the battery voltage in the 11 to 14V range. No way to be sure without experimenting though. Too many variables.

    Calling all math majors

The only way to know for sure is to experiment. If it works well enough, then you face the problem of how to house the sensor and meter on the bike since neither is weatherproof.

Sedan trunk bike racks meant for 2 bikes - can they handle the weight of one light weight ebike?

Over the years, I've damaged two vehicles carrying 2 - 25# conventional bikes on a trunk rack causing damaged paint and broken glass. On one occasion, I almost lost the bikes as well. No matter how tight you keep the straps, they always work loose somehow. No way would I trust an expensive...

    Lectric xPeak 2.0 Twist Throttle

Here's a YouTube video that may offer some help: It shows a thumb throttle replacement with a generic product but the same procedure will likely work with a twist type.

Makes sense. Where I ride, it's traditional to hang found items in plain sight to make it easier to spot by those who lost it.

    Vacation planning with E-Bikes

I do a lot of travelling with my bikes and feel the same way. When it came time to replace my SUV, I bought a crew cab pickup instead. That way, I can carry the bikes in the truck bed, protected from road debris and would be thieves. Yes, I sacrificed some interior cargo space, but I...

    Rack Bag Lock

I use the MIK quick attach system on all my bikes & bags. The bags have D rings on each end for a shoulder strap. I carry my valuables in the bag and just use the strap to take the bag with me when leaving the bike. A bag lock isn't a bad idea though if it's firmly attached to the bike.

    KITS VS TURNKEY (NEW!)

When shopping for my first e-bike, I found I couldn't buy one with everything I wanted for the type of riding I do. So much for the turnkey option. I then looked long and hard at kits to convert my beloved Trek MTB. After pricing all that was necessary to do the conversion, I decided to buy an...

    Winter fun and car batteries!

I do too, and they are indeed getting harder to find. One of the reasons is, these old style chargers should not be used with many lithium batteries. These days, golf carts, riding mowers, and an assortment of mobility devices are using large lithium batteries. Using an "old style" charger...
