    Install Voltage Meter on ebike

A little trick I have used over the years for testing and tapping into wires without damaging them is to carefully stick the wire with a small pin on the end of my tester wires to test for voltage etc. You will just have to prick the wire a bit to get contact with the copper in the wire to get...

    Vanmoof pauses sales

In my opinion there isn't much out there of higher quality that isn't proprietary. Every automobile, name brand motorcycle etc.is proprietary except the Chinese who buy various parts and pieces, put them together to make an item and put their brand name on it. It makes it cheaper in more ways...

I suspect you wouldn't want to get caught in the rain or on a wet muddy road either.

Is it safe to freely use the throttle WHILE PEDALING on a mid drive?

What a can of worms you have opened. You don't but why not? By the way Stefan, what do you have on your bicycle, car ATV or what have you that you don't need???

    Power consumption

I have a Prodigy ST and am wondering if it anyone has discovered a power consumption readout that I haven't been able to find. I have had two bikes before and they both had an active watt consumption readout on the display and miss it on my Prodigy.

First e bike Step Thru Tall person

There are bikes out there with a cadence or torque sensing setting that also have a throttle. My juiced Rip current did. I sold the bike because I went with a narrower tire and needed a step through bike. I nearly always used the torque sensing setting which worked very well. If I needed a...

Looking for input/advice on first e-bike

I wouldn't expect a $1,500 bike to compare to a $5,000. bike but to say a $1,500. bike is unrepairable is simply not true.

    Specialized/Brose motor failures?

"I wasnt really sure what context this was in but I have had small bike shops that I used to take my old road bike too say they werent really sure what to do with my Giant when I was having some controller issues. Working on the electrical problems is what I was making a point on. Controllers...

    Specialized/Brose motor failures?

I can understand a bike shop not wanting to work on the electrical parts of an e-bike as there are so many one off electric variations of the system out there it would be impossible to know them all. Refusing or not wanting to work on the normal parts and pieces (there are not that many) any...

Reason for price discrepancy between R&M and Gazelle

    Vanmoof pauses sales

I believe the boom is over. Just look around. It looks like the discounts are starting. I expect there are going to be some fantastic money saving deals out there in the near future especially on the higher end bikes. Nobody dealer wants ebikes sitting in inventory with the batteries deteriorating.

    Rip current S review

You can't go wrong with this bike. My first ebike bike was a RC and must say I loved it. They made the huge abandon gravel pit where I used to ride a lot into a park so didn't need a fat tire bike anymore.

Battery safety education - Only you can prevent battery fires!

"it’s a major flaw if bikes cannot be left on a charger indefinitely like EVs and virtually all other electronic devices." I don't believe anyone recommends that l-ion battery EV's or electronic devices be left on chargers indefinitely. "This should not be left to the end user." If I own the...

Turbo Vado 5.0: IGH or chain?

    Which brake first?

I do most of my braking using front and rear when front wheel is pointed relativally straight ahead. Using the front wheel break when doing a slow sharp slow turn and the wheel will tuck in under you. Been there done that.

Battery safety education - Only you can prevent battery fires!

I too live in AZ where my garage gets to 110+ degrees so I bring my bike into the house to minimize the chance of the heat damaging batteries, or other heat sensitive components. Whether it preserves anything is a good question. Why take a chance with an expensive piece of equipment when it is...
