    Looking for a little advise.

Most any brand worth having is likely to have a good bit of back log right now - The pandemic has made eBikes more popular than ever and manufacturers are having a very hard time meeting the demand. If someone has a bunch of stock on hand, I would be a bit cautious - There might be a reason...

    Brand new Lectric owner

I'm in your age group and bought a Lectric XP for many of the same reasons. I use it mainly in my RV, as at home I have to pack it up and drive a few miles to a safer place to ride. I specifically chose this model because it folds and I can get it in and out of my RV (or my van) pretty easily...

New owner. Found a lightly used b.o.b. It's in great condition. I will use it as we RV around the southwest. I am 72 so trail rides are not in my plan

I'm 75 and enjoy trail rides much more than dealing with traffic on the public roads - Don't run anything out 😉 Don

    New member seeking wisdom

I'm older than you and have had a hip replaced. I bought a Lectric XP folding fat tire bike about a year ago to use mostly with our RV and I really like it. I added a more comfy seat and a suspension seat post plus a few other goodies - Mirror, water bottle holder, etc and I'm still not out...

Distance/Speed Accuracy: Map vs. GPS vs. E-Bike Display: Serious Discussion Needed

Use the back wheel to measure everything - It travels less distance than the front and does it in more of a straight line. It's also much closer to the distance you actually traveled Don

Distance/Speed Accuracy: Map vs. GPS vs. E-Bike Display: Serious Discussion Needed

Keep in mind that any measurement using the bike's wheel is going to give you the distance the wheel has traveled, rather than the distance you have actually traveled. None of us ride in a perfectly straight line - We wobble a bit as we pedal, left to right, so the tire actually goes farther...

    Hello from Northwest Arkansas

If you're going to be riding on public roads with a speed limit greater than 25 MPH, I would buy BOTH! I've been using an Amazon seatpost flashing light since day one and I can recommend it highly https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07V2KSPXT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Don

The 4 Big Groups of Ebike owners

I guess I'm just not into 'drugs' - I would be willing to bet you the price of your 4th eBike that my XP will remain the first and last eBike you'll ever see me buy. It does everything I hoped it would do when I bought it. Folds up compactly and fits inside my motorhome, makes the grocery...

The 4 Big Groups of Ebike owners

Then kudos all around to a group of enthusiasts who designed the Lectric line with the aim of eliminating the middlemen and selling direct to the public at a price the average person can afford. The bikes aren't the lightest, nor the most powerful but they are certainly rugged and are a...

The 4 Big Groups of Ebike owners

Every time I ride my Lectric XP I'm even more amazed at how they can build something of that quality, sell it for less than $900 with free shipping . . . . and still make money. 500 watts, 7 speeds, 48 volts, 10 amps, fenders front and rear, very sturdy luggage rack, I got a free set of...

Help setting up woodshop in basement. Any electricians here?

I don't see where you have to click on any discussion you don't need to read about, no matter where on the forum it's located, but obviously you wanted to add something to this one, so you did. BTW - Not all basements are necessarily damp. I have half dozen cast iron wood working machines in...

The 4 Big Groups of Ebike owners

But there's little doubt that Group 1 bikes are expanding e-Bike ownership faster than the other two groups combined - Thousands of new riders who would never consider spending $2,500 to $3,000 or more to get back into biking are doing so now that you can buy a quality e-Bike for $1K or less Don

Help setting up woodshop in basement. Any electricians here?

Oh, I agree 100% - In a closed basement without opening windows, my first purchase would be a system designed for woodworking tools which collects all dust woodworking tools generate and vent it to outdoors if at all possible - If not, something that filters the air to keep you from...

Greetings to every, I’m an old dilapidated Army Vet dog (55 years old)

Welcome! I'm an even older, even more dilapidated Air Force vet . . . . and you're right - This forum is an awesome resource Shouldn't be any problem oversizing the controller as the motor will only draw as much current (wattage) as it needs and a heavier duty controller will just run cooler...

Heres some real world ebike motor data.

It's pretty clearly opinion - Opinion is 'data'? Data is measured so it can be compared, one thing against the other or several others Don

Would an 18 amp controller try to supply 25 amps to a big motor, or are they self limiting? Don
