My comment on the Park Tool vid is that you have to count the links, not just rely on side-by-side length. Chains stretch, and old will not match new in length with the correct number of links.

This probably goes without saying, but if you do bypass the cutoff circuit, don’t do any real riding with the bike. As for determining whether an open or closed circuit does the bypass, do you have any two-wire electrical connector close to the exit from the lever/handle? If so you can just...

That’s a shame. There are no specs/manuals around for your bike? My guess is that this KMC e10 10-speed chain would work. You have to size it (as in count the links) against your existing chain and you need a chain link removal tool as well as a chain “breaker” pliers tool...
