Charging port cover - won't seat

Same here. Mine was a plastic cap. I always cover with a piece of electrical tape before I ride.

How's the bike infrastructure where you ride?

Boy, I think you got screwed, @6zfshdb What kind of bike were you on? I wonder if the rangers would give me s**t on my e-fatty? I hope not. I hope one of these days to make it down to the Cape and have @stompandgo show me around (before he buries me in a cloud of sand, that is). :D

Just joined the e-bike world - wow!

Looks pretty slick, @Ringo9 !!! As a fellow fatty rider, I can only say that I love mine! I haven’t had any flats yet, but I think it depends on where and how you ride it. Gravel trails and rocky/rooty dirt trails don’t seem to cause me any trouble. Welcome aboard!

    Bike Computer/Speedometer Recommendation for eBike

Kind of surprised Rad doesn’t have something for you, salary… Maybe they want you to buy a RadRover. Well, whatever… 🤷‍♂️ Indeed you should look into Wahoo or Garmin for a solution for your bike, although I’m sure you could get the Cateye to work. I think that gets another “whatever…” 🤷‍♂️

what is this on my steerer tube?

Hey, Base, do you have any instruction video or web link information on this type of suspension. I’d like to understand this better. I did some searching and I also tried to find some information about it on the Gazelle web site but found nothing relevant. Thanks in advance. Oh, I also...

    Oh. That’s good news.

Rusted Wallke X3 Pro Battery - can’t remove, help!

It’s hard to envision the problem without some pictures, H. Are you saying that the key is not inserting far enough to unlock it? If that’s the case, then some lock lubrication and probably a paper clip to get at the pins at the back of the lock might be needed. But, are you saying the bike...

what is this on my steerer tube?

I guess it’s an adjustable stem, @efair . Not at all clear on whether that’s something they expect customers to adjust or not as it looks like you need special tools for it. Not sure.

2025 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

Couldn’t agree more, Jeremy! There are some times when I have wished that I didn’t live out here. But, not once since I’ve been riding my ebike!

    Bike Computer/Speedometer Recommendation for eBike

That’s a pretty big surprise (to me) about the Cateye. I wonder what sensor(s) they are talking about. Well, best of luck, salaryman.

Greetings once again from the Massachusetts central rail trail:

What have you learned from your e-bike experiences?

… or if you’re willing to become a bit of a hobbyist. An ebike is a fairly complex beast, and the current lithium-ion battery technology can be dangerous. What Jeremy says is right on. Be smart.

    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

It’s gotta’ be misinformation/mistake, Jeremy. It would be an unforgivable flaw if you couldn’t ride the bike without power. Are there any ebikes (historical question) that had such a crazy restriction?

    Wheel Noise

That’s excellent, Ron. Try viewing some of the spoke adjustment vids on youtube and get in the habit of “pluck tuning” (I call it that) your spokes every couple hundred miles or so. You pluck each spoke and listen to the tone. A loose (or tight) spoke will be very obvious because of the sound...

    Bike Computer/Speedometer Recommendation for eBike

Yeah, you don’t get a real display with that bike, do you? At least not one that tells you any detail. Hmm... I’d give Rad a call and see if they can help you. Maybe they have a bespoke display (like the one on the RadRover) that can be connected. Oh, but certainly anything that you used on...

What is the deal with this bottom bracket / crank?

Hi folks, I’ve been studying these Lankeleisi dual-motor bikes a little bit as I find them very interesting. I was wondering if any of you know/understand what is going on here at the crank / bottom “bracket”. Note, these bikes have front and rear hub motor drives; they are not mid drives...
