Scott e-RIDE Addict 30 and the world of easier hills

Thanks, I had deleted my post just after I realised with another measurement that 31.8 mm bells should be able to fit close to the center of the stem. I also use my voice usually but when crossing Copenhagen downtown this is not a safe method. We have excellent cycle lanes everywhere but often...

    Mahle X20

same here, I also use a Garmin Edge to get this data. Upright position is of course relative. After all, this is a racing bike. Wouldn't really call it upright seating but I read somewhere that it's more moderate than some other racing bikes.

    Mahle X20

On a flat surface with no wind I usually cycle on my Scott eRide 20 between 28-32 km/h, so the engine (on lowest = green mode) only kicks in for accelerating after a full stop. Otherwise it is neutral. This is why the battery lasts that long. Did a 60 km run on Saturday along the Baltic Sea...

anyone know actual weight difference between a Creo Carbon Comp and a similar aluminum model?

I still wonder why Specialized is a bit secretive about the weight on their models. They list a lot of detailed technical information on each of their models on the website for you to compare but the weight is not part of their specs.

Specialized Vado Turbo SL 5.0 EQ - please help confirm my choice!

Another thing to consider is the difference in weight. If you have to lift your bike as part of your commuting / storing the bike, the "regular" Vados are very heavy, whereas the Vado SL is more in the range of an average' bikes weight

    Creo SL vs Vado SL

A lighter frame may get you more speed = more miles but usually comes at the cost of less sturdiness. I own a Vado SL 4.0 EQ myself and use it for everyday commuting, groceries shopping and for trips when the weather is rough / roads dirty. Earlier this year I wanted to get a bike just for...

Specialized Vado Turbo SL 5.0 EQ - please help confirm my choice!

The Vado SL is a bike for everyday use- including commuting. Creo is more geared towards work outs. I bought a Vado SL 4.0 EQ 3-4 years ago and used it in the beginning for both commuting and workouts. Great bike but a year later I wanted to have a light bike just for the work outs. Looked at...

The app is useful for checking e.g on the SW solution you have on the bike. But for riding the bike you don’t need it. I use my Garmin device instead for getting all the data displayed but even that is optional

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I have meanwhile purchased 3 different types of bags for my Vado SL Rack Time system: Clickfix Rackpack Light - for small luggage during day trips with my bike Clickfix Shopper Alingo GT - for shopping groceries Clickfix Rackpack XL - for office commuting. It is broader than the Rackpack Light...

Vado SL vs R&M UBN 5

In any case the UBN Five seems to be at least 1-2 KG heavier than the Vado SL. as Stefan said, the Vado SL has a proven engine and it is nice to have a bike where you do not have to reach out to a different vendor when there are questions / updates about/ for your engine. I have a Vado SL 4.0 EQ...

Your experiences with the new Mahle MySmartBike app (replacement for Ebikemotion)

Gratulations to your Scott Addict eRide. So you also have the 20 then? Error 32 comes up every time I use the Mahle app. Actually I stopped using it, it just displays errors and things like motor maps not implemented yet. It frustrates more than it helps (I have the latest version and latest...

Your experiences with the new Mahle MySmartBike app (replacement for Ebikemotion)

Thanks , Yes that’s my understanding too . The acid test for the communication between the HMI and the battery I guess is if the battery indicator on the HMI correctly shows remaining battery life . Guess I need to use the battery though more often than I did now to see really the battery being...

Your experiences with the new Mahle MySmartBike app (replacement for Ebikemotion)

Thanks a lot. It was a perfect day. nice to ride at the sea side, sun was shining, wind in the back and it was pretty warm for the season. I did not use much the engine on the trip but neverthess plugged it in afterwards. It charged for probably an hour in the usual way, i.e. the charger...

Scott e-RIDE Addict 30 and the world of easier hills

Had a nice longer tour today along the Øresund from Copenhagen northbound. Perfect weather, warm, sunny and light wind from the back. Even was very, very lucky when the tube of the front wheel suddenly got a hole (oh noooo....) as we passed by Northern Copenhagen because we found an open cycle...

Your experiences with the new Mahle MySmartBike app (replacement for Ebikemotion)

Yes just did this when coming back home. It says 100% o that sounds fine but battery cycles is also in the Garmin device displayed as only one. So it seems battery is fully charged but something still is weird. Let's see how it goes on our seaside trip tomorrow.

Your experiences with the new Mahle MySmartBike app (replacement for Ebikemotion)

Yes it shows a full bar , so maybe it is actually loaded 100%. When riding, I indeed only use my Garmin Edge 830. So the app was really more for controlling battery charge .

Your experiences with the new Mahle MySmartBike app (replacement for Ebikemotion)

Thanks for your tip. When I rebooted the bike, it showed at least battery status again (86%) but it does not seem charging (left it on for some hours) I now did try to update the bike and the update seemed to have worked as the controller and joystick now show a new FW version. Battery still...

Your experiences with the new Mahle MySmartBike app (replacement for Ebikemotion)

Latest thing I had this morning was the app after charging first showing the 32 error (error in the HMI-ECU communication). Now the battery apopears charged on thr unit and the bike behaves normal. However the app does not show any battery load % information. Strange....

Thanks, well it didn't come loose when unscrewing it so I played it safe and took it again to the local shop who fixed it and applied some carbon paste too so it should not come down by itself again.
