As you are probably aware, wanting/needing throttle limits the options to those bikes using bafang, dapu and a few other motors but eliminates those using the popular Brose, Bosch, Shimano, and Yamaha motors. But the Evelo Aurora Limited that you are looking at seems well suited for your rides...

The Evelo limited may be more than you want to spend but has plenty of power for Seattle hills and has one of best warranties around.

Those two look nice but neither has a throttle that he initially wanted for his wife. Also, if he has a few hills I would think the more expensive one with more power and torque would be better choice.

One of the comments in the comments section in the Electrik review of this bike said the pas speed is 25 mph and not the 20 mph stated in the review. Does anyone who has this bike now what the speed pas max really is? Thanks

John Thompson. You may want to look at the Watt Wagon offerings and read the posts on here about them. They have a new controller, Archon x1, they use with Bafang that smooths out the power of the Ultra motor. Also, none of the other motors mentioned have a throttle which may or may not be...

I agree, 750 watt. Also get off your high horse and offer a throttle. They can always be taken off or not used. Some of us need one.

I was not familiar with HPC so looked at the Scout on their websites. Sure seems like they want to charge extra for items that Biktrix and others include.

Islander1 I agree with your last sentence regarding fat tires. I was impressed ascI looked at Bolton but I dont want/need fat tires and all of their models I would want are fat tires. I dont know why they seem so focused on fat tired models, I think they are losing out on a large market.
