Can you please explain the quality and capability advantages of the Vado over the Cannondale?

If I buy a Vado, I would get it in Canada, but it is significantly costlier than the Cannondale (50%) and the Pinarello (25%).

The bikes have enough overlap in the commuter/light trail realm to be reasonable substitutes. I would be buying the bike in the U.S., it it’s the Cannondale or the Pinarello.

Since we’re discussing expensive luxury electric bikes, we are in the realm of ‘need’, rather than actual need. DJI, Brose, Mahle and Bosch all have products coming out in the 100+ N.m segment, so maybe more people ‘need’ 100 N.m than you imagine.

You said that manufacturers don’t share the actual power figures. In any case, why would they be honest about power but lie about torque? These are nominal specifications. They don’t seem much rounder than that power figures.

If the manufacturers are making up the published power figures, how are they more reliable metrics than the torque figures?

Peak horsepower has been widely and wildly exaggerated in markets like Shop Vacuums where you can buy a 6 HP vac that plugs into a 15 amp, 120 V circuit. Both, tbh.

Why is that?
