Biktrix Beast 2 and sizing for the vertically challenged

5'7" here. Bought a Juggernaut HD Duo back in February. If the seat post is bottomed out I can just about flat foot it while still seated. Bolton ebikes sells Biktrix Juggernauts and also has their own version of the "Beast". Size wise, the Beast may be too big

Bafang Forum - I just sent this message to Biktrix regarding the Unprogrammable Canbus

Watt Wagons is working on CANBus compatibility with innotrace. It's not available yet. Keep checking back 👍

    *BBS02B* Settings/Pedal Assist/Stop Decay * an Excellent Motor Refinement *

What seemed jerky but overall liveable when I had a 10speed derailleur is no longer suitable for the IGH. Dropping those start currents down to 1 on throttle and 5 for pedalling has greatly increased the smoothness of engagement.

    *BBS02B* Settings/Pedal Assist/Stop Decay * an Excellent Motor Refinement *

Dude I'm lost in the sea of life 🤣 Anyways as of right now I am pretty happy with my current settings. I have a smooth startup and even without stretching the stop decay. For me, it seems the important part was getting the start current and slow start parameters to engage my IGH without it...

    *BBS02B* Settings/Pedal Assist/Stop Decay * an Excellent Motor Refinement *

I agree with you. I go in saying "I'm just going to change this one thing" and before I know it, 5 parameters have been changed, I'm hitting write flash, and not remembering what I even did. "Next time, next time I'll stick to being more restrained." That was at least 5 sessions ago. 🙃

How Much Cardio Can You Get From Electric Bikes?

Very true. And in the most extreme cases of exhaustion, you can always throttle home (if you have one). I have opened up several family members and co-workers to this thinking towards ebikes.

    Duo Classic 750w mid-drive vs Ultra 1000

I have the HD Duo. From what I gather this bike is no longer available. I wasn't sure I would be happy with the HD over the Ultra but after about 5 months now I honestly don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. The power is basically the same. The BBSHD is known to be quieter than the Ultra...

How Much Cardio Can You Get From Electric Bikes?

I'm still young by the standards of this forum, (sorry everyone) but recently I have been told by my doctor that it's time to kick the fried foods and get some exercise before I head down a bad road filled with heart attacks and stents. I already had the ebike but used it mainly for fun and only...

BBS*** Settings for a Smoother Ride

@Gionnirocket Well I have dialed back my decay from 100 to 25. And made a few other minor changes as well: Pedal Assist start current: 5 (down from 10) Throttle start current: 1 (down from 2) Slow start: 6 (up from 5) Stop Decay: 25 (down from 100) Pedal start up degree: 4 (down from 5) Also I...

    What do you think CanBus?

Yeah, there is a large group of people out there that still swear by carburetors.

    What do you think CanBus?

They don't currently have support for CANBus motors (yet). Wiring will (should in theory) be different. The entire protocol of communication between display, motor, controller, BMS is completely different from non-CANBus. If we look at automotive CANBus as a sort of blueprint for what to...

    Sondors MadMod

The Juggernaut has had it's ups and downs as far as problems but everything to this point has been rectified by myself or with Biktrix support. Their support team has been very consistent every time I have needed them. I am pleased this far with their support. I don't love that the bike cost me...

    Sondors MadMod

I did cancel it. One week from my ship date too 🙃. Once it became clear that Sondors botched the dimensions and the bike was bigger than they had lead on for over 6 months, I wasn't left with much of a choice. Couldn't have a bike I can't fit on (I'm short).

BBS*** Settings for a Smoother Ride

Hard to argue it doesn't belong in a thread about smooth PAS settings though 👍. Now it's not so hard to believe how I didn't even realize these were different threads.

BBS*** Settings for a Smoother Ride

That would be motor wind down. Your run on would be your time of stop. The decay shouldn't be terribly perceivable of 1.5 seconds at a low power level anyways. Run on as I imagine is your motor still running at power before it begins the wind down. You mentioned the stop Decay improving...

BBS*** Settings for a Smoother Ride

According to the discussion you linked, it seems Time of Stop is related to the amount of time from when there is no longer a signal from pedal cadence to the motor reacting to that stop in pedalling. Stop Decay is then the time it takes for the motor to wind down once the Time of Stop period...

BBS*** Settings for a Smoother Ride

Going back over the explanations for the settings in the "hackers guide to programming" something really bugs me. The definition for Time of Stop, and Stop Decay are practically the same thing. So what's really going on with these two? From the website: Time of Stop(x10ms): 25\25\25\25\10–...

BBS*** Settings for a Smoother Ride

I don't hate it. Every once in a while when in PAS1 it's fun to do a 1-2 shift while pedalling. The gear shift is so instantaneous it feels like the bicycle equivalent of a dual clutch gearbox shift on a sports car. The gear shift sensor cuts the power for the perfect amount of time for that to...

BBS*** Settings for a Smoother Ride

Hindsight is always 20/20 isn't it? I had planned to install my new rear cog, new chain tensioner and a new rear tire tube this weekend anyways, so I guess I'll just add to the list, removal of gear shift sensor. I should make an entirely new thread about how annoying it is to install and...
