RIZE - CITY MD E-BIKE ARE THEY ANY OWNERS WITH PROS and CONS REVIEW FOR ME BEFORE I BUY 2 OF THESE E-BIKES

One thing I caught when Rize released that model was the height of the step-through reinforcing. It's quite chonky, which should be strong, but raises the step-over height 3-4 inches? The Dost by comparison looks much lower. Might not be an issue, or even accurate to production bikes, but...

    ABS on cable disc brakes?

Just a generic fork lockout cap. No idea why it says ABS, but it has nothing to do with the brakes. Look here: ABS Cap Sounds like you need to check the basic brake alignment, and go through the "bedding" process to set those new front brakes. That often helps with shuddering and noise...

I'm not sure if he is Canadian born, but he is/was based in Vancouver. Not sure where the business and website is registered. But yes, many Canadians of Ukrainian descent, and Canada has been a strong supporter of Ukraine since the USSR broke up. I think we were one of the first countries...

I appreciate the difficulty in moderating these things, and support the site ownerships decisions to strike the ugly ones. The last thing you want when trying to expand the user base is a bunch of nasty threads popping to the top of the 'newest posts' lists. My counterpoint for consideration...

Crap looks like I lost a seal am I screwed?

And then treat it with some ACF50 anti-corrosion formula. Once or twice a year does the trick nicely, and it plays well with electronics. I use it on my motorcycles as well.

Massive fire that tore through Bronx building sparked by e-bike battery: FDNY

With the proliferation of ebikes and emobility devices like scooters, I suspect it's only time before you start to see a bigger focus on UL certification (CSA here in Canada). It might not have a huge direct impact on the hobby side of the subject, but that would begin to limit unregulated...

    Wraps for bike frame

Vinyl wraps or protection wrap kits are probably the simplest, but might not give full or seamless coverage. Another consideration for vinyl wraps is that they might show the 3-d relief/outlines of any decals applied below them? Maybe? Another option to consider if you aren't afraid of...

Bafang Ultra "Smooth" tune by Mike at Frey

With the cable plugged in, check windows update for optional drivers too. Sometimes they get overwritten during the major windows updates...

Bafang Ultra "Smooth" tune by Mike at Frey

Pressing "Shift+WindowsKey+S" will allow you to drag a box across any part of your screen and then paste that clipping straight into a forum thread, email, or document just like I did below. You can also paste it into mspaint - included in any windows OS, and save it to make a really clean file...

Bafang Ultra "Smooth" tune by Mike at Frey

What brakes do you guys have? There should be some adjustment allowing you to introduce a tiny-to-fair bit of dead range before the cutout comes on. If it is a serious enough annoyance, here is the Tektro repair video that shows how a tech should properly set up the sensitivity in the second...

Bafang Ultra Motor 620 on Old Technology?

I had wear issues on my Ultra originally, but found most of it seemed to be related to the setup and how I used it (High-speed commuting >40kph). I swapped my chainring to move the chain down the gears a couple of spots and keep off the small cogs, and it's been perfect since. I've almost...

    Rize MD or RX?

We'll I'm going to have to dig a bit deeper on mine and find out if it's releasing as cleanly as it should, there is definitely more static resistance with it than my hub, which spins like a dream. And I've noticed a similar 'weight' another ultra I rode last summer. Some extra drag could be...

    Pre-ordered 2021 Rize X & Leisure step

Rize uses the Suntour seat post, and it is just about the tallest default height on the market at about 4" unloaded. If you are a shorter rider than 5'8", I'd skip the seat post until you get the bike, and then see how much room you have to work with based on your actual inseam. Some other...

    handlebar

Yes, the air compressor is the best for stock rubber style grips if you have one. I've done well with WD-40 or similar lubricant that has the spray tube. Insert under the grip as much as you can. Just be aware if you use a lubricant that you have to clean them really well before they go back...

    Charger question - feedback

And I would expect a little built-in future-proofing for an upgrade or 2nd charger at or above the $100 price point. 36v bikes are becoming rarer, and even 48v is quickly being replaced by 52v. It's also fully plausible to use a 52v battery on a 48v bike with a compliant controller, or even on...

    Charger question - feedback

That's what I usually do. I remove it and slow charge at 2amp to 80% after use unless I know I'm riding the next day for sure, and then I'll top up a fresh battery right on the bike to 100% with the stock charger, and use the Luna for the 80% slow charge on the 2nd.
