Show us pictures of where you ride your ebikes!

Not a picture of a ride, but got some new ride "hardware" last Monday. All is good - not much pain and walking (with walker) really well. I hope to be posting rides again in about 8-10 weeks.

    Vancouver BC hotel/riding info request

Do not forget about storage of the bikes while you are there. Not all hotels have good facilities for secure storage and also be aware that there may be some "very strong" reticence in you charging batteries in your rooms. I am speaking from experience (my wife's wheelchair has Li-Ion batteries...

    Good Reads for the Season

There are many. I get audiobooks from my local library through a service called "Libby" but also have had an Audible account for quite a while and have a very extensive library of audiobooks. My suggestion is go to Audible.com (I don't think that you need a membership to do this) or try the...

    Good Reads for the Season

I stopped reading for a while because of eyesight problems (since rectified) and got into audiobooks, which is now my preferred method of enjoying books. For quite a while, when detailing my rides here, I would mention the book I was listening to. I haven't been riding much, as I'm waiting on...

Winter Is Coming - Biking in Cold Weather

To be honest, more than once I've had to climb telephone poles at similar temps to repair services to emergency services locations (mainly local volunteer fire departments) in northwestern Alberta. That was of course 40 years ago, and did contravene health and safety protocols for working...

Winter Is Coming - Biking in Cold Weather

If @Prairie Dog is riding today, he should win an award (and maybe see a medical expert) ;). For me, about 150 Kms south in Calgary, we're much warmer at -32C. Nope...

How do you mount a phone on the Como (22-23) ?

This strap mount for a Quadlock case may work. I would use a strip of rubber tape under it to give the strap more adhesion and resist movement. https://www.quadlockcase.eu/collections/shop-mounts/products/golf-stroller-pram-quick-release-strap-mount?variant=39570597675090 The car mount would...

    eMTB Options For 2024

Like @DaveMatthews Garmin 830/840, but in my opinion, you really should get the remote too. There's a MTB bundle for each - the wheel sensor is a waste on a bike with ANT support, but it comes with the remote. There is also an e-bike add on app called "EBike Field" that offers the ability to...

Show us pictures of where you ride your ebikes!

Autumn has always been my favorite season, and my local park is resplendent with appropriate colours. Not been riding as much as my left knee has finally said that it's had enough, so when my spot comes up for a new one I will take the spot this time. I've been on and off the waiting list...

This E-Bike With Built-In ChatGPT Is the Epitome of Overblown AI Hype

A little more in line about how I feel about ChatGPT, although my french is a little rusty

2023 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

I am of the opinion that it's time for 100% "bike dashcam" when riding, and sending in licence plates each and every time. It's nice to dream...

New E-biker from the prairies of Canada

Welcome to the forums from another prairie person (although perhaps more a foothills person). A BionX e-bike kitted Townie was my first foray into e-bikes and it was a revelation. Great bikes for tootling about. Now, two more e-bikes later, both MTB, I love them more than ever.

2023 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

Was just out at Bragg Creek golfing on Thursday at Wintergreen. Just another round of golf where your bag contains clubs, balls, water and bear spray... Nice ride!

2023 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

Looks great! My rub is very similar, but I add Cayenne and 5 Spice (and perhaps a bit more salt). Nice on Pork tenderloin too.

Regarding parking at Moraine and Lake Louise, when I go there, I am with my wife and therefore with handicap parking. Never had a problem finding a space.

2023 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

Thanks for sharing that, I haven't been to Moraine Lake in a few years and it's just as beautiful as I remember. Watching your video, I was thinking for the first 3 minutes, "I could ride that". Then the side slopes began and any thoughts of that disappeared. Looking forward to the return!

    eMTB Options For 2024

Different pricing where @Prairie Dog and I live. Where you get may get sales and discounts (on assembled bikes), we get regular prices and often limited supply (yes - I know those have some pretty solid correlation). $50 USD is $67 CDN and you don't get higher end tires for that here either...

    eMTB Options For 2024

I've used Chain Reaction before, and I had a look as they normally have some impressive pricing. On a few spot checks, I think they are cheaper than the store you suggested. At Chain Reaction, prices are similar to what I can get locally ($CDN), maybe 10-12% savings, but limited or no stock at...

    eMTB Options For 2024

Thanks for the feedback - what I have seems to work for me and pricing is actually cheaper then the others here. I just decided to go with what I know works - perhaps next time I'll dig deeper.

    eMTB Options For 2024

Not an upgrade thing, but while cleaning up the bike after some trail riding today, I noticed the tires are starting to show quite a bit of wear. The tires have 1900 Kms on them - not surprised. So I had a look at my LBS online, the place I bought the bike, and low and behold the tires I have...
