Maintenance and Fixes of My Vado 6.0

That stem is interesting! I hope you get it dialed in promptly, @Stefan Mikes I also find that combo of inner and outer bar ends interesting. After using the inner bar ends, outers hold no interest for me. And a funny note: I bought some SQLab IBE's for my analog bike, they were entirely...

    48t 104bcd chainring for Vado

eBay. Just search for 48T 104bcd chainring, it should be among the 1st to come up.

    48t 104bcd chainring for Vado

So after putting some miles on my eBay Snail chainring, I would like to report: It is round. It is narrow-wide. It is quiet. It works fine. No noise, no issues, just a chainring. About 100mi in, it shows no wear so far. $20 and I am happy.

    48t 104bcd chainring for Vado

I ended up getting an ebay special chainring, Snail 104BCD 48T narrow/wide, with the nuts to install. It claims to be 7075-T6 aluminum alloy. Took just a few minutes to swap over (keeping my worn Praxis just in case), and fit is perfect. Haven't ridden it more than a few hundred feet due to the...

    Sold my acoustic Trek yesterday

I seem to be going the opposite direction: I haven't been riding my ebike very much, instead been spending more time with a Specialized Crosstrail I recently picked up. I really love the light weight, nimble handling, and simplicity - until I get to the few nasty hills here. I suspect with the...

    48t 104bcd chainring for Vado

Awesome stuff, @Stefan Mikes - thank you very much for the details! I ran across the Deckas in my cursory search, wasn't aware of Garbaruk. And I wouldn't have ordered the nuts/bolts to hold them, so I appreciate this very much. (And I always use Blue Loctite after removing & cleaning my...

    48t 104bcd chainring for Vado

Any replacement 48t 104bcd chainring for the Vado you all recommend (or recommend staying away from)? My OEM Praxis ring has some substantial wear, stock in the US is nearly non-existent, so just wondering what others have used? I do not wish to change the gear ratios, the 48t works for me/my...

help me with my Turbo Vado "buyer's remorse"

Tough call. My initial reaction is - If it's not the right bike for you, sell it and get the one you want. On top of the purchase price of the Vado, to modify it as you suggest is going to cost how much more? And none of the modifications are guaranteed to provide the outcome you want and will...

10 Different bike saddles, and still a sore ass

I too am 5' 11" and the large is perfect (only 30" inseam). Now I understand why you made so many changes to your bike: You bought the wrong one/size. Yes, that 1" makes a huge difference (I went through this on an analog bike the past few weeks). So now you have an ill-fitting bike you've...

10 Different bike saddles, and still a sore ass

I have found that flat saddles - not curved downwards off the side - have provided best comfort and enable repositioning throughout a ride. I have 2 SQLabs saddles, one on the Vado (610) and the other (602) on my analog bike, and I can and have ridden them for up to 4 hrs with no discomfort...

    New SL 1.2 motor revealed

If/when this motor comes to the Vado SL, I'm buying one. Same power as my Vado 3.0, 40% weight reduction, livelier bike, range extenders vs 2nd battery. Take my damn money!

Bike shop charging fee to upgrade mission control?

All of the software/firmware updates on the Vado and Como have been free at my LBS, seems this varies by shop though? Past posts indicate LBS's are all over the place with this. The most recent updates to the bikes were OTA via Mission Control, so no need to go to the shop (this is the update...

Proper seats/saddles (especially for an e-bike)

After studying the photos, the very upright position with the drastic seat offset == yeow, easy to see why it's so painful. I'm no pro, but after fiddling with my Vado for ~10 months now, imho you have completely munged the bike - you have turned it into an upright riding position with a...

Proper seats/saddles (especially for an e-bike)

I think it'd be helpful if you also recapped the current state of your bike and maybe share of photo of you on it. I seem to recall you put Como bars on your Vado; what other changes? If I am correct in my thinking, you have changed an active/fitness/hybrid bike to... more upright? So a very...

    Question on 'dropped chain'?

Seems they do shorten it. Anyway, on my 2022 Vado 3.0 1x9, the derailleur is indeed around 1700 in 1st, and around 1924 in 9th.

    Question on 'dropped chain'?

I counted my original chain, which is indeed the KMC e9t; and my new chain. They are both 120 links total.

    Question on 'dropped chain'?

Normal? Dunno, not an expert, but I can take photos if needed. I have my old, original chain, I will ask my wife to help me count links tonight. ;)

    Question on 'dropped chain'?

This is the original chain on the Vado, and it appears to be 134 links. Not sure if Specialized removes links, the mfgr ships different lengths, or it is 134 links (I can't count that high): https://www.kmcchain.com/en/product/e-bike-anti-rust-chain-e9-turbo-9-speed

    Question on 'dropped chain'?

I experienced another chain drop with a relatively new chain; ironically in the same place I dropped chain a few times before. Here's the scoop: Chain, as mentioned, is quite new, has ~300mi on it. SRAM 9-speed chain. I had recently done a deep clean and lube. Derailleur is adjusted perfectly...
