    E-Gravel Bike…Looking for Advice

The Creo and Tributary are basically opposite ends of the e-gravel space. Creo is very much the lightweight racy bike for someone who wants something as close to a non electric gravel as they can get. The Tributary is closer to an emtb, much more relaxed geometry, more powerful motor and...

    E-Gravel Bike…Looking for Advice

Do you want flat bars or drops? I'm assuming flat bars since you were looking at emtbs? What sort of assist are you looking for? A lot of the traditional e-gravels are much more to the e-road side of the spectrum (small low assist motor and small battery but a very light bike). Are you good...

Bikes in the Age of Tariffs

USA manufactured source for motors? Controllers? Shifters? Derailleurs? Chains? Tires? Suspension components? Saddles? You can certainly assemble a bike in the US, and many companies do. There are some components that are manufactured in the US. But there are lots of necessary bike...

    Schwalbe Tyre Problem

Heat distortion? The only time I've seen a tire like that was when a friend transported her MTB and didn't realize her trunk rack held the front tire in front of the exhaust.

    Schwalbe Tyre Problem

I'm not familiar with how common it is and I don't see much fake Schwalbe stuff on Ali so its (hopefully) unlikely.

    Schwalbe Tyre Problem

Given the issues you're having, I kinda wonder if you got sold a pair of counterfeit tires.

    Schwalbe Tyre Problem

One thing to keep in mind is that many bike/part companies aren't really setup to deal directly with end users. They have dealer networks that are supposed to handle these sorts of issues, and the company support mainly works with those dealer networks to handle issues. I don't know if the...

    Schwalbe Tyre Problem

Have you contacted the ebay seller you purchased the tire from?

What Fork To Get, and/or Other Parts (for a weight weenie low power fs eMTB)

You should be able to estimate wheel weight. Its hub+rim+spokes(number of spokes for your lacing pattern)+nipples(same). Theres variance in all those parts so the shop may not want to commit to a weight but you can come up with a working estimate. I did weight weenie wheels on my road bike...

What Fork To Get, and/or Other Parts (for a weight weenie low power fs eMTB)

Changing the tires to something lighter and faster rolling is the low hanging fruit, and you've already done it. Beyond that, you're quickly throwing money into a hole to make the bike ever-so-slightly lighter. Its your money, but I'm not seeing a lot of benefit, really. At least if your main...

Wahoo ELEMNT vs. Garmin EDGE (as E-Bike GPS Displays)

I do like having some stats after the ride. I sometimes go back and look at old routes (I even have sporttracks 3 installed so I can pull up rides from before I started tracking on Strava ~mid 2010). There are times where I'm planning a ride and want to look at a route some friends and I did...

Wahoo ELEMNT vs. Garmin EDGE (as E-Bike GPS Displays)

If I don't run them on my non-electric I definitely don't care about them on the ebike. :p I do run a wahoo cadence sensor on my trainer, and the trainer itself does power. I've never bothered with them on my actual bikes even in my roadie days though.

Wahoo ELEMNT vs. Garmin EDGE (as E-Bike GPS Displays)

Lots of MTBers downgrade whatever Bosch computer comes with the bike to the Purion 200. Which is similar to the Steps 7000 display my eMTB came with (super minimal, clamps to the bar just to the right of the stem). My only complaint with the Shimano display is it only shows battery as 5 bars...

Wahoo ELEMNT vs. Garmin EDGE (as E-Bike GPS Displays)

I've seen rumors over the past few years that Bosch is working on ant+ or it will eventually be included, but nothing has come of it. I kinda assume those are reps or shop owners blowing smoke up potential customers butts to try and sell bikes. I do find it perplexing; the customer base for...

Wahoo ELEMNT vs. Garmin EDGE (as E-Bike GPS Displays)

The issue with Bosch (as I understand it) is their system flat out doesn't output ant+ data. So theres nothing for Garmin/Wahoo to read.

Wahoo ELEMNT vs. Garmin EDGE (as E-Bike GPS Displays)

Auto definitely confuses it. I never use auto so its not really an issue for me. I've had my giant for 5 years and the only assist mode name I can actually remember is eco. The little giant emtb controller I put on my Revolt has 5 lights for mode as well (they light up from bottom to top for...

Wahoo ELEMNT vs. Garmin EDGE (as E-Bike GPS Displays)

I've never found them to be difficult to setup, just tedious. The touchscreen ones are simpler for sure (I've had both 500 series and 800 series, currently running a 530). The good news is you setup your activity profiles once, when you get the unit, and then probably never touch them again...

    Frame Snapped

Looks to me like its a welding failure. Cracked right along the weld on the underside, crack expanded until tube failed. Warranty. Hope they cover it.

    Frame Snapped

Yeah, those tubes look awful wimpy for an alu frame. Aluminum has basically no fatigue limit, so if frame design allows it to flex it will eventually fail. Thats why aluminum frames generally use large diameter, thin walled tubing; makes for a very rigid frame that avoids that issue. The...

    Frame Snapped

Thats generally how aluminum fails. Welding heat weakens metal so they generally break somewhere near the weld (tubes are usually butted, so they tend to crack where the thickened area ends; this is true on steel frames as well). Aluminum needs to be heat treated after welding to restore its...
