Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Congratulations!! It's an incredible bike as the title of the thread suggests correctly. That said - there are some of us that haven't upgraded a thing and love the SL. Think this way, Specy worked hard on this model with expert bike engineers with plenty of experience contributing to it's...

    My Direct to Consumer experience

Agree - I've typically ridden medium bikes but on the SL I needed a large for proper riding position. LBS really helped me decide and was very knowledgeable on bike fit. Specialized may have changed - but my business model is going to my LBS and riding before I buy. :)

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

$700 doesn't sound like too much for a carbon fork with suspension. I would consider it for my SL4. I do like the Redshift suspension stem as it would be cheaper but with only a 6 degree rise and 90mm being the shortest option, it would change my relationship to my handlebars and don't want to...

Torque settings for through axles, Turbo Vado 4 SL?

I purchased tire liners and so far - no flats. Does add a bit of weight but that's another advantage of having eBike. :)

Torque settings for through axles, Turbo Vado 4 SL?

Yeah kahn - I was going to buy it until you told that story. Frustrating. Have you changed a flat since?

New : Turbo Vado 5.0 IGH Belt Drive

On my SL the magnet is flush to the assembly. On new it sticks out a bit. Not sure if that matters but being a proximity sensor - might.

    Firmware updates..............again!

To me - unless it's an upgrade that affects the longevity of the bike or battery or possibly increases performance, I won't update and haven't. I have a '21 SL4 too and it's perfect as is. :)

2022 Turbo Creo SL Expert EVO

So your through axle has a handle? Is that what that is? You don't have to use a wrench and I suppose proper torque isn't as important as I thought.

TCD/Garmin Mount on 2022 Turbo Vado SL

Looks good and cables aren't blocking the light - good upgrade.

That's the one upgrade I don't understand on the SL - the brakes. OK - maybe a matter of preference with the length of the triggers but plenty of grip area and the levers can't be pulled back far enough to the hand anyway. I would assume the XTR brakes are lighter so that would be an advantage...

2022 Turbo Creo SL Expert EVO

That's the great thing about my SL4. I can get whatever workout I want. And I can always get home when I'm spent no matter how far from home.

New Turbo Creo - First Impressions

I finally replaced my stock SL 4 wheels with CF and a Onyx Vesper hub. It's completely silent freewheeling now. Guess I'm happily out of fashion RochR...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I use the Specy defaults and my lowest power assist has only ever been ECO and the sound is just a purr - no issues.
