    Cannondale Topstone Gravel Ebike

One thing that stood out about the Niner ebike: "And the all-new RLT e9 RDO carbon fork is the same length as a FOX AX suspension fork." Should be easy to throw a suspension fork on her if you so desire. It seems to have slightly more clearance for wider tires, compared to the Cannondale.

Here are the screenshots I took showing REI falsely advertising the Lefty 3 as class 3. Use these to challenge REI if they refuse to make it right.

You can buy a legit class 3 Neo 2. I've seen a few currently available online for MSRP. I'd hang onto the REI bike and make REI supply you with a class 3. They are available. By simply returning the falsely advertised Neo 2 you are giving REI and Cannondale an easy out. That Niner RLT is a...

I saw the medium Neo 2's disappear and reappear previously. Alaskan previously mentioned that REI only has about ten Neo 2's total for sale. I bet they sold through the small and medium models to unsuspecting customers who expected a class 3 bike.

REI's again listing the Neo 2 for sale. This time the bike is correctly advertised as a class 1 with the Performance CX motor.

The bike Alaskan bought was a return with 200 some miles on it. It's possible the previous owner upgraded from a 42 to a 46 and returned the bike that way.

The Nyon aftermarket display looks really nice. I wish I had an extra $300 to spend. :p:p:p I'm curious how you played with the seat and handlebars to get that XL to fit you, and if you noticed any handling effects? From my perspective, a benefit of purchasing a bike which is slightly too large...

Does the ADA supersede local restrictions on Ebikes?

The ADA is extremely flexible. An electric assist bicycle can absolutely be an accommodation under the ADA. In fact, from my review, the ACLU of Michigan sued Mackinaw Island way back in 2002 for refusing to grant the accommodation of allowing a resident to use his electric assist bicycle due to...

Does the ADA supersede local restrictions on Ebikes?

Government entities cannot legally remove infrastructure in order to avoid compliance with the ADA, Rehabilitation Act, and corresponding state law.

Does the ADA supersede local restrictions on Ebikes?

You would have to request an accommodation from the appropriate government entity. They probably would not respond. You can request essentially any accommodation under the ADA if your accessing a program, service, etc, including a trail, requires an accommodation. As long as the requested...

REI removed the Neo Carbon 2 closeout listing. It's possible they sold through the ten or so bikes they had. If so, that's 10 people who are not going to be happy about getting a class 1.

I found a couple dongles which claim to display the correct speed, and maintain all functions. One was through epic ebikes in Australia. Something like $220 for the standard which unlocks to 30 mph. I feel like that is reasonably how fast one could go with pedal power and motor power combined...

Wow. I also did not have a terribly helpful experience at the Lynnwood REI. I've always had a good experience at the Seattle flagship. I think they might just be overwhelmed at Lynnwood. Being in retail has certainly sucked the past year. REI always seems busy the few times I've visited over the...

Nice purchase, Alaskan. Did they give you a cheaper price since it's used, and the trouble you've already had with the Neo 2?

I'm glad someone got it. I should of have bought it, swapped the drive unit and display with my large, then returned it.

Sorry you went to the trouble. The tech misinformed me that it's a class 3.

That's not how it works. If a merchant advertises a product, they have a legal obligation to deliver the product as advertised. Consumer protection laws vary from state to state, but generally false advertising is illegal. In this case, REI continues to falsley advertise these bikes as a Class...

It really does just suck the life right out of the bike. It wants to go faster. As I mentioned earlier, I know of at least one used Class 3 XL Lefty 3 available at the Lynnwood, Washington REI. It's a returned product, so they would probably give a good deal on it. You have to be pretty tall to...

Known Issues & Problems with Cannondale Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

I have a Topstone Neo Carbon Lefty 3. It is a class 1, but the power starts to cut out similar to what you report, around 18.4 mph. The solution is to file a complaint with your local attorney general consumer protection division. If enough people file such complaints, Bosch will quit defrauding...

Has anyone used a sprung Brooks saddle, or a Thudbuster seat post? I'm thinking I would like to add it to the Lefty 3. The Lefty 3 is already a really weird bike. I might as well make it extra weird by putting a Brooks Flyer on it, yes?
