    Cannondale Topstone Gravel Ebike

I wanted to make use of the bottle cage mounts on the down tube. That ended up being more trouble than it's worth. I was able to make use of the seat tube bottle cage mounts. It is enough space for a can of beer, or a tool/repair kit. The King Cage lowering cage fits perfectly.

Second Battery Solution For Topstone Neo Carbon

Your bike looks good, Alaskan. I love the suspension seat post. I opted for a black battery cover, as it was half the price of the silver, and it allows me to easily tell batteries apart. I hope Bosch offers a larger battery capacity in the same size form factor in the near future. I'd love...

Second Battery Solution For Topstone Neo Carbon

I also applied helicopter tape. However, I did not do a very good job, and I doubt it will stay affixed for long. I'll probably take the bike into a shop and have it professionally protected. I'm starting to get past the phase of worrying about getting my bike dirty. It's a weird psychological...

Whoa. How did you manage that? I might order a third battery, and it would be nice if it included the cover.

I finally solved my music issue when cycling. I hate having to pull out my phone to change songs, or adjust volume. So, I used Voile straps to mount an Anker Soundcore 2 bluetooth speaker to my toptube. This way the sound is direct at me, and I can use the buttons on the speaker to change...

    Cannondale Topstone Gravel Ebike

It's a medium Revelate Ranger. My frame is a large. The camo "gas tank" bag is a Revelate Gas Tank.

    Cannondale Topstone Gravel Ebike

In order to get to the trails where I like to ride, I often have unavoidable stretches on roads where I am forced to take the lane, and hope the people behind me don't get frustrated and simply run me over. At most they might get a traffic ticket for killing me. I had one such three mile stretch...

    Cannondale Topstone Gravel Ebike

The battery cover slides on and off. There is a small metal piece that you can't fully secure without the nuts one would normally use to affix a bottle cage. It will just kind of rattle around in there without those nuts. When you eventually get the battery cover on, keep the nuts which are...

    Cannondale Topstone Gravel Ebike

I use a Revelate Designs Ranger frame bag size medium to carry a second battery. I got the frame bag from REI. I got the battery from Bikeman, as they had best price. I ordered two King Cage lowering bottle cages to try and make use of the down tube bottle cage mounts.

Ebike lesson of the day: If you are going to do a ride where you intend to swap batteries, don't forget your keys. I did a 31 mile ride today. I went to swap batteries, and realized I forgot my keys. I then rode 16 miles without any assistance, as my battery was dead. I completed the remaining...

    Cannondale Topstone Gravel Ebike

The class 1 bike I got from REI did not have a class 1 sticker. The class 3 bike I got from REI does not have a class 3 sticker. The two bikes look identical. I saw that some class 1 Cannondale bikes at REI did have class 1 stickers. In Washington State, failure to abide by the current poorly...

    Totally absurd possibilities for touring

Solar panels aren't heavy. A 100 watt panel is 4 lbs. If you're gonna use gas, you might as well ride an ICE bike. If multiple people need to use you as a charging station, use an electric car, or electric motorcycle, and charge off that. It is incredibly inefficient to charge an ebike with an...

    Totally absurd possibilities for touring

I'd rather carry about 200 watts of flexible solar panels, and a power station. Such a setup would only weigh 25 lbs. I'd charge from 10am until 4pm.

    Bosch 6A charger

Toshiba has a cell that can charge at 20C for 18,000 cycles. There is usually a trade off between ultra fast charging and power density. The point is, all major ebike manufacturers should release 1C chargers, at a minimum. 1C charging will have absolutely no effect on cell longevity.

What specific law prohibits class 3 ebike use where you live? Pretty much any State law, or Federal regulation, that prohibits ebikes, is going to be in conflict with the ADA or Rehabilitation Act. The exception would be the Wilderness Act, which predates, and thus preempts, the Rehabilitation...

    Bosch 6A charger

It would be nice if Bosch made a 12 amp charger, which would still be less than a 1C charging rate for a 500 watt hour battery. There are many batteries that charge at 10C, without any adverse effect on life span. Higher powered chargers are generally bulkier, heavier, and most important, more...

    Product Improvement:- Feedback to Bosch.

I had to purchase the 6 amp charger from Deutschland. I use a step up voltage transformer to make the 6 amp charger work in the USA. However, this means the 6 amp charger never leaves my home. It would be very nice if Bosch would release the 6 amp charger in the USA with 110-120 volt input...

    Bosch 6A charger

I live in the USA. I ordered a Bosch 6 amp charger from Deutschland. As expected, it requires a 220-240 volt input. It's an easy solution to use a step up transformer. However, it makes taking the 6A charger on the road impractical. The 6 amp charger is only slightly bigger than the 4 amp...

Second Battery Solution For Topstone Neo Carbon

I also was looking for a solution for second battery storage. I originally ordered a Salsa EXP medium size half frame bag, which fit perfectly in the large size Lefty 3. However, the zipper was slightly too short, and the second battery would not fit. I then ordered a Revelate Designs Ranger...

    Cannondale Topstone Gravel Ebike

Today I exchanged the class 1 Topstone Lefty 3 for a class 3 Topstone Lefty 3. I ended up paying 5 cents more for the class 3. So, REI ended up making it right. Having tested both versions I can say with confidence that class 1 ebikes suck. The class 1 would cut out around 18.4 mph. The class 3...
