Sub $3000 Leisure/Commuter Bike For Hilly Area [Final Choice: Priority Current]

Exactly - I had heard some mixed feedback in the beginning, but now I've been getting more positive opinions from people getting their Shimano Currents. If you end up asking Priority about the price difference, please let me know as well :)

Sub $3000 Leisure/Commuter Bike For Hilly Area [Final Choice: Priority Current]

Yeah, I'm guessing it could be at any point between now and June depending on parts availability (just a guess). Regarding gearing, it's definitely possible, but it's a risk I decided to take, in the end. I stressed this point to Priority multiple times and they assured me they tested the bike...

Sub $3000 Leisure/Commuter Bike For Hilly Area [Final Choice: Priority Current]

Not mid January, mid 2021. No idea on the price, but maybe shoot them an email about it! I will, and if this turns out not to be the best decision, I'll report back as well!

Sub $3000 Leisure/Commuter Bike For Hilly Area [Final Choice: Priority Current]

Definitely the Enviolo for the better gear range.

Sub $3000 Leisure/Commuter Bike For Hilly Area [Final Choice: Priority Current]

I was shamefully hiding the fact that I gave in to my impulses, ignored the excellent advice received and ordered one ;) I paid 2700 for the Shimano version. Priority will bring back the Enviolo Current by mid 2021. No specific date - could be sooner. I unfortunately cannot stand to wait that...

Giant Momentum Transcend E+ vs Priority Current

Not that it changes anything here, but apparently Priority is bringing back the Enviolo on the Current in 2021.

Priority Bicycles just launched the most affordable Gates belt mid-drive e-bike

That's fantastic to hear! Hope you're enjoying it! Have you tried going up any hills? Very interested in how it handles at lower gears + how strong the motor really is.

Sub $3000 Leisure/Commuter Bike For Hilly Area [Final Choice: Priority Current]

Exactly, both Markel and Velo quoted me at $250-300/yr on a $3k bike.

    WTB: Baramind BAM Trek

Hi folks - I was interested in buying the Baramind BAM Trek shock absorbing handlebars. I thought the concept was interesting and wanted to try it out. However, it ships from France, so I thought it was worth skipping the domestic shipping and helping someone who wants to get rid of theirs. If...

Sub $3000 Leisure/Commuter Bike For Hilly Area [Final Choice: Priority Current]

Yes, you're absolutely right. With everything it offers and just the raw power, it's a fantastic deal. Especially for people like you, who can work on their own bikes!

Never Raise The Handlebars In Your E-Bike (2023 update)

One last update - they ship to the US and have a discount code going on XMAS15. The person I talked to warned me that the City isn't very e-bike appropriate. The stem area is a bit narrow, making it harder to mount a display/headlights, for example. The TREK also has a bit more flexibility...

Never Raise The Handlebars In Your E-Bike (2023 update)

Ah, you're right, they do. Handlebar + shipping would be about $95 usd.

Never Raise The Handlebars In Your E-Bike (2023 update)

Can something like the Baramind BAM City be found in the US?

    Priority Current: Class 3 Urban Mid-Drive Belt E-Bike, 500W, Integrated Removable 500WH Battery, 140 NM, $3300 S/M/L

I actually bought the Priority Current, but I'll only get it in January. In the meantime, I enjoy hearing current owners impressions and the overall debate here.

    Priority Current: Class 3 Urban Mid-Drive Belt E-Bike, 500W, Integrated Removable 500WH Battery, 140 NM, $3300 S/M/L

Currently, nothing! I'm just trying to put it into context. The Priority Current has an (alleged) 500w so it's a very different beast.

    Priority Current: Class 3 Urban Mid-Drive Belt E-Bike, 500W, Integrated Removable 500WH Battery, 140 NM, $3300 S/M/L

I'm guessing that has little to do with the igh and all to do with the monster motor you're running. What is the motor on the bike?

Sub $3000 Leisure/Commuter Bike For Hilly Area [Final Choice: Priority Current]

Went to a LBS - they literally only had one ebike in store and it was the Momentum Transcend. They walked me out the door w/ the bike and said - we are having a very slow day today, spend as long as you want with the bike. I spent probably an hour - didn't want to overstay my welcome. They...
