Sub $3000 Leisure/Commuter Bike For Hilly Area [Final Choice: Priority Current]

Range Test Recently I have been exploring the different kinds of range I get with the bike, while riding at different settings. As I mentioned in the last post, the test I did was at a very light, leisure pace, averaging 10mph. This is meant to enjoy the scenery but also to get some exercise in...

Looking to replace an bike and borrowed it to three for now.

Ah! Yes, they have bottle cage mounts right opposite to the battery - I guess that makes sense, similar to specialized.

Do you mean they're working on a larger battery?

Looking to replace an bike and borrowed it to three for now.

I won't give any opinions here as I don't have a whole lot of experience. I wanted to say I have a Current and, if you haven't yet, check out my posts about it in this thread(read from the linked post to the end, lots of updates). Priority already sells replacement batteries, they cost $600. The...

    Priority Current: Class 3 Urban Mid-Drive Belt E-Bike, 500W, Integrated Removable 500WH Battery, 140 NM, $3300 S/M/L

I'm by no means an expert, but not that I know of. I know similar priced bikes that are more powerful, but no belt drive (e.g. Rize RX). I also know of belt drives with more reputable motors, but they're more expensive (e.g. Gazelle, R&M, etc).

    Priority Current: Class 3 Urban Mid-Drive Belt E-Bike, 500W, Integrated Removable 500WH Battery, 140 NM, $3300 S/M/L

Hey! I unfortunately have no experience with non-urban scenarios, but I do have experience with hills. Please check out this thread: https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/sub-3000-leisure-commuter-bike-for-hilly-area-final-choice-priority-current.39435/post-379150 The post linked is...

Never Raise The Handlebars In Your E-Bike (2023 update)

I now have an adjustable stem and the Baramind BAM Trek handlebars (no rise, moderate backsweep, some shock absorption) and I'm pretty happy :)

Bottle Mount Accessories That Aren't Bottle Holders

I decided to go with a folding lock and a bottle cage. The folding lock is compact and offers decent protection for quick stops and situations when I don't want to carry a huge u-lock - feels like something appropriate to be permanently bolted to the bike. The bottle cage because I noticed that...

Sub $3000 Leisure/Commuter Bike For Hilly Area [Final Choice: Priority Current]

200 mile update I tried the alternative firmware. For those who don't know, Priority has an alternative firmware for the Current's controller. The original firmware was developed to be as smooth as possible (their words), and probably for flatter cities (my words). It modulates power delivery...

4Cs - Cruiser, Cute, Comfortable, Cheap (under $2K)

That's great! Congrats on the bike! In my opinion, the rad city is pretty comfortable and pretty upright. It's not a Townie in terms of comfort, but trust me, very few bikes will be. I'm sure you will love it - it will likely be better suited than a cruiser for hilly areas. I'm in SF so I had to...

4Cs - Cruiser, Cute, Comfortable, Cheap (under $2K)

Putting the electric aspect aside for a minute, Electra also has been making cruisers for decades. The Townie is a great bike, insanely comfortable. I had a traditional Cruiser 7D in college and it was absolutely the best :)

Bottle Mount Accessories That Aren't Bottle Holders

The top tube bag seems like a good idea. I even found one on Amazon that comes with the holes for it. However, since I have a rack, pockets and often bring a backpack with me, I am not sure how much difference it would make for my use case, given that it's such tiny extra storage...

Bottle Mount Accessories That Aren't Bottle Holders

Hi folks, my new bike has two sets of mounting holes for a bottle cage: one on the top tube (keep in mind this is a mid-step) and one on the downtube, opposite to the integrated battery. Both can be seen in the image below. Now, I am not in the habit of carrying a water bottle with me. I mostly...
