If running tubes why keep patching it instead of replacing it?

Part of what my thoughts on the whole patch thing is there is a point when throwing another patch isn't worth it not that you shouldn't patch in some cases.

If running tubes why keep patching it instead of replacing it?

I would definitely depends on the flat and other things like the fat bike tire verse a skinner road tire put the same number of patch on both and it's not the same. I actually have a tubeless tire that has a vulcanized patch because of how much tread life it has left and fact that it not at risk...

If running tubes why keep patching it instead of replacing it?

It's about the repeated patching of a tube that gets me and some cases swapping out the tube check for source of puncture and then patching the tube later and using it as the spare makes more sence or recycling it for something else or throwing out because it at the point were that the more...

If running tubes why keep patching it instead of replacing it?

Yes I can see where some hub motor guys would lean that way. Also I was talking more in terms of tubes that were patched repeatedly.

If running tubes why keep patching it instead of replacing it?

I am puzzled for the most part as why some people keep patching tubes instead of replacing them. I keep thinking of Christmas story and the bald spares😀. Curious at what point do you think a tube should should be replaced or why you should keep patching it?

If your freehub fails (doesn't engage) then you can zip tie the cassette threw 1st gear to the spokes to limp home you just loose 1st gear and have to take easy on the cranks. I wasn't talking about a loose chain. I was referring to hacks you can use when you find yourself stranded on your bike...

What's You're Plan For Major Breakdown?

There is always a possibility of a flat which requires changing that a small compressor and slime won't get you home. Not that having those thing doesn't help reduce the chance of having to do that . By the way I don't fix tubes myself much just put them in to get home if sealant or plugs don't...

What's You're Plan For Major Breakdown?

I strongly suggest looking at hacks you can do to get yourself home like zip tying your cassette to your spokes. Which reminds me I probably should through some zip ties in my bag.

What's You're Plan For Major Breakdown?

I think one should have the tools to fix a flat and be able to fix one. Not to be confused with someone who finds it hard to change one but can in a pinch. Honestly if you can't it is a little questionable as to whether you should ride.

What's You're Plan For Major Breakdown?

That is one thing that is important to me is that my bike pedals well without power and mine do. The motor dying and not having enough battery power can be 2 different things. I did purchase bigger batteries for extended range.
