Well, haters gonna hate. You try and find another ebike with Pinion gear box & belt drive that's $2k and tell others about your experience with it.

Any Prius that can mount a hitch. Hitch mount bike carrier can easily accommodate 50 lb. ebike & another bike. Just make sure the carrier & bikes are secured.

Did you check the polarity before connection the battery? If not, it's hardly the battery's fault.

I like my $450 used Ride1Up 700; it's been a solid bike.. a bit heavy, but gets the job done every time. I think Ride1Up is a good company, bikes are value priced and reliable; just needs more color than battleship grey.
