    Old pensioner rider need help

No that is normal. There is a seting that controls where your PAS starts when you turn it on. If it was in PAS 1, the throttle should have worked, unless it is set to 0/off in the controller

    Old pensioner rider need help

I should have asked this question first: When you plugged the throttle into the male plug, and tried the throttle, was your PAS setting on the display at "0"? Did you try the throttle when the PAS setting on the display was at a higher number? The Throttle may be set to not work on "0", but...

    Old pensioner rider need help

So your male connection should be the throttle. I presume your other two are connected to the brakes? If you connected a female throttle plug to the male plug on the mains and it didn't work, it's very possible that your throttle is disabled or set to "0". I suspect that is true since your bike...

    ZEN Customer Service

Something may be seriously wrong at Zen. They are advertising the Samurai Elite build with a Kindernay VII rear hub. Kindernay went bankrupt and out of business a while ago. No hub support or parts. Zen is either off-loading bad inventory, or doesn't bother to update their website, and may still...

    E-Horn?

Yeah, I stopped giving warnings about two years ago. I just breeze on by and give as much berth as the circumstances permit. That approach appears safer than giving warnings, and triggering a startle response.

    Larger chainring for Radster Trail?

On another note, I cannot believe that Rad is still using a Freewheel on this or any of their bikes anymore.

    first ebike

I recommend you follow PedalUma's advice above. And look at quality, well known, used ebikes, that can be serviced locally. This Forum is filled with guys that are looking for help diagnosing and fixing thier crappy ebikes and trying to source parts. I say this as somebody that purchased my...

Has anyone tried building a hub motor wheel with your rim? Is it complicated?

Easy to do. Just take your time. There is no magic to it. I did mine becuase the bike store said it would take them two weeks. I wanted to ride the next day.

Why no Specialized e-assisted fat bikes?

There is an old but true adage in the retail industry. "You don't stock inventory for the the 10 percenter." Fat Bikes (4") account for less than 10% of bike sales. They had an uptick a few years ago, but interest has waned among true bike enthusiasts. If you are a large manufacturer or...

    Need new bike advice

Thanks, yes I've been running parafin for three years. It is amazing how clean the chain stays! I replace the chains due to chain stretch. I could run the same chain the whole year, but they do stretch a bit, so I do it as routine maintenance. The Rohloff rear sprocket is very forgiving even...
