    mid drive w/ throttle ?

It can and has been done. Here is mine, not full suspension but it has a 1000watt Bafang mid-drive, a throttle and a Nu Vinci N360. It's super quiet, shifts smooth and does 34mph. I commute about 50 miles per day 2-3 days a week on this bike. I love it! I have been through Bosch training and...

    Petite looking for car replacement

I built a bike for my wife who is 5'0" 105lbs. Put a Bafang BBSHD mid-drive on a used Electra Townie 8i. With a 11.5Ah battery and her relaxed riding style, she gets well over 30 miles, a second or larger battery could double that. The drive and battery was $1000, the bike $300. Added a rear...

    Ebike Reccomendations for Towing

My $.02, I'd go with the Bafang mid-drive. I put one on a Diamondback Overdrive Sport with a Nu Vinci CVT, and two batteries. My trailer is a hand made, single wheel design on which I have 150 watts of solar panels and a Genasun charge controller that charges lithium ion directly. I can charge...

I do! However, this is probably getting off topic, if you would like to discuss a possible build, PM me.

    mid drive w/ throttle ?

I'm delivering a bike to a friend that I finished, it has a throttle, a Bafang mid-drive and an ERT controller. Makes over 3000 watts and does 45mph, with proper ramping programmed in, it's as gentle as a kitten. Or as wild as a tiger!;) I wouldn't have an ebike without a throttle or with a...

Hey Ann, It looks like the forum is working better! It hasn't done the weird blanking thing to me for a while. Seems to be working fine again!

    Range: Fact vs. Fiction

Thanks to all for your posts! I think that you have all proved what we already knew to be true, that there are a number of different factors that effect mileage, and that the same bike will produce different results based on how it is ridden! Thanks again! :)

    Range: Fact vs. Fiction

Well, in part your absolutely right! I don't use all of my battery and I don't adjust for the small amount remaining. I have my low voltage cut of set fairly high (45v) so I don't hurt my battery, and so there is a good amount remaining when I switch to my reserve. I think though that my...

Well, 80 Km = 49.7 miles. What is your battery voltage and capacity?

    Range: Fact vs. Fiction

When shopping around for an Ebike, one of the main concerns is range. Running out of power several miles from your recharge site is a bit of a pain, and for some with disabilities, it is simply not an option. I work with a lot of different Ebikes, from high end European makes to lower priced...

    Bafang bbs02 help

Nice! Thanks for the heads up Mark! I've just slowly acquired mine from build leftovers and upgrades, but this is just the ticket for the single bike owner who needs to figure it out quick. Thanks for sharing!

    Bafang bbs02 help

I agree! I have spares of all just for testing purposes. I hate waiting for what I think it is just to receive it and then find it is something else!

    Bafang bbs02 help

I don't think it's the PAS circuit. It only senses two things, pedal movement (speed) and pedal direction. What happens when you back pedal? Nothing I hope, if it does engage, it could mean the direction sensor is bad. Since you are getting an error 4, it usually means you have lost the ground...

Bikee Bike DYI Mid Drive kit status

Look into Bafang mid-drives. A bit pricey but not too bad. Powerful and quiet, they have several sizes and pricing to match most build needs.

    Help me plan a build..

Hi ForrestGnomre! Good luck on your build whatever you decide! But for what it's worth, here is my $.02. I am a mid-drive aficionado, so of course I will recommend one. Especially since you have hills. Hubs are great, just finished a hub build this morning, but unless you build a fairly powerful...
