Very impressive and equally impressed you can use a 52t front as well. Do you get to use the 52 x 11 or 12 much?

2016 Turbo S chain drops off chainring :(

I also adjusted my chain retention on my Base Turbo and had the chain, sprockets, derailleur checked too but always came off at speed in the 2 highest (ratio) gears on bumpy roads. So I made an inner guard, much like a bash guard but on the inside of the chainring and chain hasn't come off yet.

Yes more pictures please, very interested in your gearing - what chainring size are you using? Is that an adjustable stem? More details please. You're the first I know of with electronic shifting, will someone on here do wireless shifting yet? Very nice bike...

    The new turbo Vado 2017

No chain retention device on the new ones, hope the chain stays on because it looks like quite a tight gap between chainring and frame. Hate to see the chain jammed in there. Otherwise looks like a nice clean design, an IGH would be even nicer.

    Costume made fenders

Sweet ride! Are they carbon fibre fenders or vinyl wrapped? Did you make them yourself? I really like the way the S has the headlight up on the bars and those nice XT brakes. Enjoy...

    Turbo X 2015 speed/range

Douglas, I'll read with great interest when you get your Turbo S battery for your base Turbo, please post price and if you get the bluetooth app working with it. Btw what is the Turbo S battery capacity?

    Turbo X 2015 speed/range

My 2015 base Turbo gets 35-37 km on Turbo mode (full assist) from a full charge. This is undulating smooth roads and averaging about 30+ kmph and I weigh 68kgs with about 10 kg extra in my pack.

Happy with my 2015/16 base Turbo...

Bike looks nice and clean, not like mine with all the winter commuting here. How do you find the turn signals? Is it a light tap on the ends to activate/deactivate them or is it a more aggressive push? Considering these or waiting for the Lumos bike helmet with turn signals.

    shorter handlebars?

I've cut off about 30mm off each side, for commuting and lane splitting it's much easier to squeeze in-between cars. Makes it a little quicker to steer but not twitchy to me at all. Only thing I don't like is by the time I've mounted my mirror there isn't much room between the stem and grips if...

How many gears do you use?

I'm going to change to 12-26 cassette soon as I like the 1 tooth steps in the high range. My commute is generally flat except for 2 short sharp hills barely longer than a few hundred metres though. For me I spin in the 12t or 13t on the flats to reach the max assist of 45 kmph. I only ride in...

    2015/2016 Turbo - 300 miles / 2 weeks impressions ... and photos

Hi Kermit, a stumpy fsr is still a nice mtb. I have an old RIP9 and dream of the latest WFO! I use automotive brake cleaner on the discs and basically clean the disc, ride and use the brakes hard on my commute then repeat daily for a few days. I think the squeal in brakes is dirty discs/pads and...

    2015/2016 Turbo - 300 miles / 2 weeks impressions ... and photos

My Formula brakes squealed at first but after cleaning the discs and pads several times they only squeal when wet. The braking power has also increased as the pads bed-in too. Nice Niner bars - you ride a Niner too?

    New owner of Turbo

Hi MegaGrogan, you got a great deal on yours. What colour is yours and is it a base model or 'S'? I haven't noticed anything like that, but then again I'm not going that fast either. If I do hit 50, it might only be for a fraction of a second:-) Let me know if you get it fixed or if it's just...

    New owner of Turbo

"I see you are from New Zealand. Welcome! The 2016 base Turbo is 396Wh? The 2015 base Turbo is the US is the 468Wh model with lights. The 2016 is the same as the 2015 but is $3000USD instead of $3800USD." Hi Douglas, yes according to the dealers spec sheet that is what our 2016 ones are but the...

    New owner of Turbo

Hi, just introducing myself as a new owner of a 2015 base Turbo. It's grey with lights and soon to install fenders . I bought this over a 2106 model as over here the 2015 model gets lights and more battery capacity (468 vs 396 w/h) and cheaper. So far in the last 2 weeks of ownership it's done...
