My Thoughts on Mid Drive..Hub Drive and Throttle

99% of the riders are retirees and most are competant riders. Some of the tracks are a little "challenging".

My Thoughts on Mid Drive..Hub Drive and Throttle

I think this chain breaking thing is s bit of a red herring. Over the last 4 years I have had 60 to 80 people turn up each Wednesday for a group ride. We have ridden thousa ds of miles amd only once have we had a chain break. And that was on a poorly maintained regular bike. Yes it would have...

2019 : Our Rides in Words, Photos & Maps

Youve got better photos than me. The last train on that line was about 1967. The tunnel has an uphill grade and when they used the steam locomotives the driver and fireman used to lie on the footplate to escape the smoke. When they were hauling pigs on the top deck not all would be alive when...

2019 : Our Rides in Words, Photos & Maps

Last week I took a group of 24 from Waihi through the Karangahake Gorge to Paeroa and return. 44km. First photo; bridge crosses river, in second photo, across a main highway (see red truck bottom left) and straight into a 1 mile tunnel.

Have you noticed that the vast majority of ebikes are "recreation-focused?"

they do: The Urus has a front-engine, all-wheel-drive layout, and a top speed of 305 km/h (190 mph) making it one of the world's fastest production SUVs. The Urus can accelerate from 0–100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.6 seconds and 0–200 km/h (124 mph) in 12.8 seconds.

It’s 2025 what does your ebike look like?

Why would you want 3-Class ebikes. After all a motorbike is a motorbike doesn't matter if it is 1200cc or 175cc. A car is a car, doesn't matter that it has diesel or gas power, front wheel drive, rear wheel drive, all wheel drive, it's still a car. So why have separate classes just for Ebikes.

Known Issues & Problems with Brose Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

I have had similar problems. The first, the motor cut out while riding, no display no power, nothing. restarted a few minutes/seconds later. Motor replaced under warranty, no idea of what the problem was. The second, the motor had no power but the display was up and running. Problem seemed to...

    Go For $$ Or Not?

A retired lawyer once gave me the best free legal advice ever. "At our age a dollar saved is a dollar wasted". So I went out and spent 8k on a Bulls Embt. Haven't done any 'touring' as such on it but have done a lot of long day trips. Every 6 to 8 weeks I go over to the Whakarewarewa Mountain...

Another twist to throttle vs PAS ebikes....Comments wanted...

So what's the problem with all these wires ? It's not as though you have to plug them in every time you use the bike and I'm sure the extra weight wouldn't cause a problem

83 years old and bought 1st ebike!

Bought my full suspension E Mountain bike 2 years ago at 80. Still go out on a group ride at least once a week and every 4 to 6 weeks lead a group an hour away to a local mountain bike park. There are 58 tracks there graded 1 to 6 and I'm happy up to 2.5. If you start worrying about how old you...

Bike Racks for those who can't lift a heavy bike

I have a thule easyfold which came out before the ramps. I find that if I line the bike up parallel with the carrier, put the rear brake on hard, rear the bike up on the rear wheel and swing the front wheel over to its position on the carrier, release the rear brake and apply the front brake...

SHOW us YOUR PIX here .... Odd, WeiRd ,UnUSuAl or EyE CaTchIng things from your rides

While not as threatening as alligators we do have some hazards. Usually our signs warn us to share the path with pedestrians. On a group 'away ride' we were out the back of beyond (it wasn't at the end of the world but you could see it from there) Zoom in on the sign
