    New Stromer ST5 LTD

The feeling of sarcasm is an opinion. (Your opinion) So is "nice". This thread hijack started when you claim regen is all you need to stop. That is just simply false. "Good thing is the regen braking usually eliminates the need for the brakes." There is absolutely no burden for anyone to make...

    New Stromer ST5 LTD

The videos demonstrate what is possible with modulating the front brake without crashing. Just because you don't have the skills to perform such a feat, doesn't mean no one can perform an emergency stop without crash at 30mph. To know how to to use fully the brakes on your bike is a serious...

    New Stromer ST5 LTD

That's great to know, will keep some in the bike tool box. Fact remain that the mount points on my bike was not square. Using a simple technique to mark the rotor with a sharpie, I can clearly see the pad contact points. My suspension was evident as soon I started cutting. I'm from a...

Well, even my regen is set to max I would disagree. My ST5 regen is set to max and at the speeds I'm rolling there's no way I would not be using the front brakes. Even if regen is soo good, it's like saying you don't need front brakes. That's just not true. How are you going to stop from...

Over 50's Charger GX HS Rohloff chronicles

Not just bikers, cars don't follow the rules either. Here's me almost getting killed from behind because "You don't get use the whole road!" (I was about to make a left.) This is shot in 360 4k. For best experience, open link in Youtube app or use link in separate browser page. (You can drag...

ST5 owners - Can you maintain 28mph for whole battery?

So battery voltage sag is a known fact no matter what kind of load is drawing from the battery Perhaps Stromer has raised the battery gauge so even at lower have of the gauge the rider is not experiencing performance degradation? I'vc done 85 miles and taken the battery to 9%

ST5 owners - Can you maintain 28mph for whole battery?

I think your question is rather abstract. The short answer is yes, but I don't think it is the answer you are really looking for. I think, much of the lower voltage experience has to do with voltage sag. If you use max assist settings you are just going to hit battery cut off sooner. The bike...

This is mechanical engineering 101. Use a torque wrench so you don't break stuff.

Public Service Announcement - ST5 electronic lock does not work when pushing bike backwards,

I said a real lock not a rear lock. A New York Fahgettaboudit Mini locked to a stationary object can buy you a few minutes when you are picking up something quick from the super market. There's still a lot of top notch components you can rip off even if you just roll the bike away. Just wanted...

Public Service Announcement - ST5 electronic lock does not work when pushing bike backwards,

Like the title said - pushing the bike forward will engage the rear motor with very high resistance. However pushing the bike backwards while electronically locked, seems to offer no resistance at all. Always bring a real lock.

    Tubeless ready ST5 - Yes!

Well, with a back up tube I'd also have to bring tools to remove the axles(s). (T70 Torx) Not looking forward to that.

    Tubeless ready ST5 - Yes!

Just coming back to this thread as I finally got a flat that tubeless sealant could not seal! It was about a 5mm cut. (Maybe a piece of glass) Not all tires are designed to be tubeless. Tubeless tire will have enough thickness on the side walls to keep it air tight. Where as tubed tires does...

    Tubeless ready ST5 - Yes!

This finally happened to me at ~2000 miles. 5mm gash and proofed too much for the Stand's sealant. Blew all the sealant out (You can see the puddle) I was on the road and has no access. Found a patch kit for radial car tires at a hardware store, it was able to get me home. Should always bring a...

    Stromer ST5: Is it reliable?

Have not had to replace the TMM sensor. Luckily. The fork install was a doozy. Very tightly packed inside the custom handlebar. I talked to Tektro and they make the TRP brakes. The replacement line are thicker because they claim the lines move more fluids needed for the 4 piston calipers...
