    Is My Explorer +1 intuitive?????

yep, found that out a long time ago. The wind was something I had not experienced.

    Is My Explorer +1 intuitive?????

First ride in strong headwind. Usually unpleasant and extra effort pedaling. On the ebike, it seemed as though it sensed the wind and my pedaling was effortless. I was amazed. Did not have to move to sport, but kept it on normal. It just took me by surprise that even in windy conditions...

    Little Wrench on my console

Riding today and a small icon wrench appeared. I suspect it may mean some maintenance due. Bike is a year old and has 1800 kms. Bike shop closed due to covid 19. Can anybody advise?

    best tire for explorer +2

Just an update. No groin pull, cracked pelvis in two places. That was history. Took a couple of months to heal but did 30 kms yesterday with no prob. Not bad for 80 year old.

There IS a ceiling to these Superbikes

Challenged a very short steep hill with the Explorer +1. I had tried several times with my conventional 27 speed bikes and never made it more than half way. With the Giant I was down to lowest gear on Sport 2 and almost did not make it, but I came through in the end. I was so impressed with...

    Is Additional Motor Noise Normal

thx browneye. it only makes sense when you put the motor under additional load it will make a bit more noise. it did not sound abnormal, but i just wanted to see if other owners experienced this.

    Is Additional Motor Noise Normal

I notice on my Explorer E+1 that I get a bit of extra motor noise when in a lower gear and climbing. Is this expected on an E Bike when the motor is under load. My first year owning the bike is quickly drawing to a close and if I have any warranty issues I would like to catch them. Perhaps I...

    Scwalbe Marathon Plus

Yep, I could be a bit off on this. Like it was suggested in an earlier response, I am not being very scientific. My bike tec said the bike would be off by about half a kilometer per hour reading the speedo. I have a couple of other routes I will try before confirming just how off it is. The...

    Scwalbe Marathon Plus

Put these dandies on my Explorer +2 after having blowout like experience with stock tires. I had them on my conventional Trek and never got a flat. They are equally wonderful on the Explorer. Question: Will the speedo and odo readouts be off with the new tires. My usual 20 km trip seemed...

    best tire for explorer +2

Slow Rider, thx for the heads up. Just had Schwalbe Marathon Plus 700x45c installed. They look great and should do the trick. Now all I have to do is recover from my groin pull which apparently lasts forever. Really miss the ebike.

    best tire for explorer +2

thx slow rider. I got a list of schwalbe tires off the net but the E+ was not there. will enquire. Like i stated I had Schwalbes on my last Trek and really liked them.

    best tire for explorer +2

It was semi dark and I sensed a "mushiness" in steering. Long way from home and I hoped it was not a flat tire. I glanced down at front tire, saw it was deflating. The seconds I took to look down put me in the weeds. Ended up with pavement burns and painful groin stretch, which, apparently...

Slow shift into highest gear and jumping a tooth with hard pedal

OK guys, I watched the entire derailleur training video. I hate to admit this, but I think I would rather do heart surgery. It is way beyond my rudimentary, no, let's day neophyte skills. I visualize turning my multi speed bike into a coaster. I will go back to the bike surgeons and hope...

Slow shift into highest gear and jumping a tooth with hard pedal

Oh thanks Browneye, senility popping in to visit. I guess I am a bit frustrated because I took bike in and techs did not address. Overall, the bike is a dream. Prior to purchasing, I had clocked thousands of kms on various bikes over the years. I also mentioned earlier I live on Vancouver...

Slow shift into highest gear and jumping a tooth with hard pedal

Have these two issues with Explorer E +2. Took into shop for adjustment, but both probs still occurring. When shifting, I am not pedaling hard, but back off to let shift happen. Nothing occurs till about a dozen pedal rotations, then it finally slips into highest gear. Will be taking back to...

yep, long time trumpet player moved to flugelBONE. Flugelbone is basically valve trombone rolled into trumpet config. One octave below trumpet. Also own and play valve trombone. Sorry, this not bike related. Just answering query from Steve.
