The Garbaruk cage has solved 80% (?) of the skipping issues and WW has the smaller cassette on the way so I’m in good shape. People need to appreciate that the bling of that green Garbaruk makes up for a lot of twigs 😉

What really helped me more than the videos was the Shimano 8000 manual on the Shimano site. Very clear instructions on the adjustments. The Park Tools videos on YouTube are good too.

Thanks @pushkar excellent information. Yes, I should have mentioned the B screw adjustment - with input from others here, I found that adjusting that really helped with the small cog chain wrap - critical.

The chainring may help with higher top speed, but as discussed in other threads, skipping on the smallest cog is a different issue.

Just the washer gets reused if I’m following correctly.

For sure there are going to be issues with derailleurs getting banged up offroad and things getting stuck in them and a bigger cage like you see on the Garbaruk and others seem like they will only heighten the issue but I'm happy with the reduction in chain skipping and it's a worthy trade-off...
