    Magnum & Amego

I set up Amego Infinite, Surface 604 Rook and Magnum Metro+ on EBR's Compare page. Pretty small differences, on the surface. I'll have to look at them, dig around on the forum. Really sucks not having all of them available for a test ride.

    Magnum & Amego

It seems the Amego and the Surface 604 Rook are coming to the top of my list. The Blix and Velec are probably off-list due to rigid fork, and it sounds like mech discs will take more work than I want to put in. Amego is cheaper but Surface 604 has torque sensors which sound better than cadence.

    Magnum & Amego

Interesting, that's the store where an overly-aggressive sales person ruined my visit. I'm going back for test rides - Blix Aveny, Velec A2 and the Magnums, hoping they'll get the message about my budget and forget about Stromer and R&M, etc.

    Magnum & Amego

Speed is not a prime consideration for me, I only go about 10-12 mph on my me-powered, doubt I'll get much above 20mph on the e-bike. Ability to climb hills, tho, is huge for me - I live 3.5 miles west of Denver, just below the foothills, and flatland is rare. I really need a boost for the...

    Magnum & Amego

Interesting. I already have the Metro on my list. Should get some test rides next week. Thx.

    Magnum & Amego

Thx Mike's, figured common factories was the answer. I put Amego on my list because of the hydraulic brakes - I've got arthritis in both hands and suspect the mechanical ones will become more of a problem as time goes on.

    Magnum & Amego

I've seen comments here that these are same/very similar. I don't have access to Amego dealership but do have a Magnum shop. I'm considering Amego Infinite and Magnum Ui6; unless there are significant differences I'd go with the Magnum because of local service support. Anyone with experience...

    Motor inhibitors

Total noob here with typical noob Q. At first glance these sound like a good idea, I'd rather not have to fight the motor when I want to brake but now I wonder - what does this mean when I have to slow but not stop. Does the least pull on brakes cut motor off? Will the bike freewheel as I play...

New Amego Infinite - High Step

Thx tons for your posts, I'm considering this bike for a Spring purchase and this kind of info is moving it up the list.

People throwing electric scooters into lakes and rivers ???

After getting regularly buzzed and brushed once on my daily walk around Sloan's Lake I'd gladly chuck scooters into it - except we had such a dry hot summer the lake's so low they'd just lay there, kinda like they do everywhere else. Denver is clueless about how to deal with them, and in an even...

    Forum fears

Thanks for mentioning Amego; after going thru reviews I put their "Infinite" model on my short (10 bikes) list. Don't think I will get to test ride tho, can't find any nearby.

John when I mentioned that I like the fit of my current bike and asked if it was convertible is when I got the snotty-toned kit bike comment.

    Forum fears

There are 2 bike shops nearby. One is the big, large selection e-bike one, sitting way back behind a huge sterile parking lot, that put me off a bit on first visit by telling me they would not work on kit bikes (they did refer me to another shop) and very aggressive up-selling. The other is an...

    Forum fears

Thanks all, I was hoping that the "hospital" analogy applied here - the only other forums I'm on are about gardening and while there's lot's of "What's wrong with . . ." posts there are many more beauty shots and success stories. Didn't see many of those here. I'm thinking about buying in March...

    Forum fears

I'm researching for an e-bike purchase, using forums like this to separate wheat from chaff in terms of quality - but you guys are scaring me to death! It seems like every bike has costly problems and I would need a nearby LBS and a regular maintenance budget just to own one and keep it running...
