    Knee protection

Well if you want to be silly about a subject, let's consider if you fell on your head would knee pads protect you from the consequence of the fall? Now let's get serious about bike safety for just a moment. Helmets of course, in every situation riding a bike. Proper footwear? Again, of course...

    Knee protection

I had TKR's on both knees back in 2010. I have since biked more than 23,000 miles with at least 8000 of those miles at higher than average ebike speeds. There has been no need for knee pads. You may be feeling an unreasonable insecurity.

For those who still have both?

I've owned an ebike since 2014. Of the 12,185 miles biked during the past 4 years, 8,450 miles have been ebike miles. This year nearly all my 1,820 miles have been commutes on an ebike, -only 246 of this year's miles were on non-ebikes. Clearly the trend is to choose the ebike for commutes...

    The Best EBike Tire(s)

I've biked 56 miles on the CCX to date and have no complaints with the Schwalbe Marathon Plus: The tires are excellent on paved roadway.

    Service and delivery problems: Solved?

Just a temporary drag, Jake. In no time all can be sublime... It is immediately possible to simply remove the rack and then realign the fender. Later, when you receive the replacement rack it should be a simple matter to install. Please keep us informed on how it finally works out.

    Service and delivery problems: Solved?

Jake, that photo looks exactly like the way my rear fender stays were installed. Your fender stay clips are misaligned. They should mounted parallel -opposite one another on the fender. There are tiny PITA screws on the inside of the two fender stay clips. Once those screws are loosened you...

    Service and delivery problems: Solved?

Jake, You can fix that situation. My rack came mounted identically to yours. On my bike, the rack posts were bent most likely from mishandling in Manufacturing and/or Assembly -NOT Shipping! views of the rack "after re-work": Here are 5 steps (and a couple of hours) I took to correct the...

I had not noticed any advertisement listing or showing the "chainkeeper" as a component sold with the CCX. Can you put up a link to the ad copy?

    Service and delivery problems: Solved?

I have not experienced chain-drop as an issue, and don't expect there will be any issue. This bike shifts smoothly and reliably.

    The Best EBike Tire(s)

Perhaps the tire should be replaced under warranty. Although broken spokes and the damaged tire may have been caused by riding your bike down those 15 steps;).

Could be a long wait before the "Pluses" need replacing, they are wear rated for 3700 to 7400 miles.

    Service and delivery problems: Solved?

I was very pleased to get the CCX in brushed aluminum, it was a deal-maker for me. My last ebike, the EG Zurich had the same long lasting finish. Yes, there is no chain-keeper on my CCX.

My second ride on the CCX

The rubber compound used for Marathon plus is a tougher long wearing formulation. A long wearing tire tends to be less supple, contributes to less contact with a roadway surface. Lower tire pressures can benefit better traction and handling. Directional arrows show which way the tire should be...

My second ride on the CCX

The Marathon plus tires seemed just fine on wet roadway. While I haven't ridden on the tires far enough to wear-off the "vent spew" rubber, the bikes handling was very predictable and intuitive. Understanding that the tread on most tires require "directional mounting", I wonder if a handling...

My second ride on the CCX

Today I did another chilly ride on damp pavement. I kept the assist in mostly ECO and level 1. And a clarification is in order on the power levels. There are seven levels of assist: 0 (thumb throttle, speed monitoring, and battery matrix readout) ; ECO (all the aspects of pedal and cadence...

Yes! I remember one of the ebike companies offering the brushed alum finish option for +$100... The CCX looks great in brushed Aluminum.
