Do All eBike Motors Have Issues?

A squarewave controller can give the same effect, but I’m pretty sure Ride1Up uses (Lishui) sinewave controllers. So that’s probably not it. Maybe your wheel needs to be trued. I’m curious to know if this happens under pedal assist only, or throttle only?

    Splice motor cable to controller.

Say you got a cat5 cable. The tips of the blue and orange are crossed. When you test on the blue pair, pair looks good. When you test the orange, it looks good as well. The different will be that both tips go twice as far as the rings. If you notice that, then you can test across both tips and...

How much to spend on a ebike?

I guess you’ll also have to consider company support. I hate to assume, but I imagine that you’d get better support with the Cannondale, as opposed to Rize. You may pay more for a better warranty. If you like to learn things and willing to do electrical and mechanical work, you should be fine...

How much to spend on a ebike?

I can’t stop looking at the Rize RX. If I had to buy a new ebike (wish I could) this one would be on my short list.

How much to spend on a ebike?

I really think it's great that you have the option. I have always had this one ebike. It has a cadence sensor. I live in a hilly area and I've read that a torque sensor can be difficult to ride, since you have to apply more pressure to gain more assist. Going uphill, this may be an issue. Since...

How much to spend on a ebike?

My Ride1Up was just under $2000. It took me months to pick, but $2000 was my max. I have a hard time leaving things alone so, I started replacing most of the electrical system. I live in a hilly place and the bike was pretty good but now. it's better. Ride1Up just came out with the Vorsa. Looks...

Lugging a Motor, Why it's Bad

Does the new chain have as many links as the old chain? This is how I measured my new chain when I replaced the old one. I figure if the chain stretched, maybe the old chain would measure to a length in the middle of a link? IDK I’d that could happen. With this in mind, I just counted the links...

    For us OLD guys

I’ve driven a large truck for many years. From the drivers view, it’s dangerous for someone to pass around the truck. Especially during a 3 point U turn. Be it a bike, walker, runner, it’s all the same. The driver, that was focusing on this maneuver and watching for cars, now has to wait for...

Anyone Tried Tannus Armor in a Schwalbe Marathon + Tire?

Ive had Tannus Armor in the same tires for 3 years now and have never done that. I did buy smaller inner tubes when I installed the armor and have 25PSI in each 27.5x2.4” tire. I think having the smaller tube doesn’t compress the foam as much as having the original tube. It seems like users...

Do All eBike Motors Have Issues?

I think that’s a Shengyi motor. So you have an alphanumeric stamp starting with “SY2248….”? The Aventon Level, of the same year, had the same motor.

Do All eBike Motors Have Issues?

A buddy of mine got tossed from his motorcycle when his front wheel started to wobble. Very bad. He is lucky he walked away with only roderash and a bruised hip.

Just to play devils advocate… How long does the light draws 6W for? 1 hour? 3 hours? If it’s 6WH then over a 24 hour period that’s 144 wh. Over a weekend, that’s 288 wh. A week, that’s 1008 wh. Your battery will be dead. BMS may kick in earlier due to LVC.

I’m getting pretty tired of that. One of these days, I’ll have to delete all my duplicates. Fun fact: the headlight is the original from my ebike.

lol. No. This one can’t go more that 18mph. With semi-solid tires and no suspension, I wouldn’t go faster. I’d upload a picture of my 40mph scooter, but don’t want to go through the hassle of resizing the photo.

Problem with locking and unlocking with a phone is that the bike will always be on to accept transmission for the phone. That will drain the battery, slowly, but you may find yourself with a dead battery if the bike is left alone for a couple of weeks. I know about the drain because I...
