Proper seats/saddles (especially for an e-bike)

RE:What about your "armpit test"? I had to raise the seat about 1", made a BIG difference! Also moved the seat back similar to where yours is, also, adjusted the Kinekt seat post tension to '#4' similar to yours, and tilted it a bit more flat than it previously was. All in all, much better, did...

Terrible paint used on $8,000 Specialized bike and no customer support

"Specialized doesn't sell touch-up paint because of counterfeit concerns" PLEASE, provide me some validation to that statement, as it's befuddling.

Proper seats/saddles (especially for an e-bike)

So, is the general consensus of the end result of this discussion that no matter what, it's all a pain in the ass?

So my "book" measure is 30" (762 mm or 76.2 cm), if I add the 0.5 - 1 cm for the seat post sag, I fall within the medium size. I'll do the 'armpit measurement in a bit.

Can’t use a dropper post without giving up the Kinect seat post. Right?

    Or.......it might be time for a Tero X 6.0 :)

Proper seats/saddles (especially for an e-bike)

So, I just watched the "How to Perform a Simple Bike Fit (at Home)" on Cam Nicholls YouTube channel. The big challenge is to find someone in the local area with similar skill to perform the items shown and discussed. Obviously, my previous "fitter" was not even close. Anyone have anybody in...

Proper seats/saddles (especially for an e-bike)

I've been riding steadily for about 6 years now on different e-bikes. Before that, it might have been well over 50 years ago when I was on a bike. So.....if some true-blue real deal YouTube video exists that "tells it like it is", that would be a great contribution here, about the varied...

Proper seats/saddles (especially for an e-bike)

I apologize if this discussion deviates from the "Specialized Forum" discussions about the 'brand'. However, regardless, it sure seems to have fired up a lot of interest, response, opinion, suggestions, etc. So hopefully, it might ultimately have a silver lining, if we all come away from here...

Will do. I do not think I'm doing the twist.

HOWEVER, with you seated on the saddle, and with the photo as shown, and each leg extended with each down and the pedal being parallel with the surface of the pavement/ground, is your knee bent or is your leg fully extended. I'd be interested to see THAT photo. MY inseam is 32"-33", my EXACT...

"my seat height to be where I can sit on it and be on my tip toes comfortably at a stop, one foot on the ground and the other on a pedal, ready to speed away" My exact setting

So, out of curiosity, do I take a 'level' and raise my seat to mimic the photo above (as referenced 'level'), and not have control of when stopped (placing feet/foot on ground when coming to or at a stop)?

Following up regarding the questions (and answers) specific to this discussion. I, am 72 years old (in 2 months), 6'0", 222 lbs. My Vado 5.0 is a Medium size. I had Large before, and came to find out that a Large was a misconfiguration for my sense of everything, and the Medium feels like a...

Turbo Vado 5.0 IGH - The Nightmare Continues

Well, I'll "chime in". Specialized informed me during the Como defective fork saga that: "Each individual supplier of specific parts that are procured by Specialized to 'build' a bike that is sold to a consumer is covered by THAT manufacturer of THAT part, NOT Specialized". So, the fork was...

WIDTH is the issue, I'm thinking. The Specialized Power Pro with Mirror at the back is wide, but not as wide as your reference photo, so I'm of the belief I need narrower at the back.

Proper seats/saddles (especially for an e-bike)

For the last 5-6 years, I've purchase, tried, have, returned, experimented and do not seem to have the capability to get a proper fitting saddle for the many e-bikes I've had, most currently the Vado 5.0. I probably have at least 6 or 7 in the garage and the basement. The most recent one (still...
