    Question on 'dropped chain'?

yes, per my prior post I already have a slap-strap for my pants leg, but it's annoying and just not as good as putting a guard on the outside of the sprocket. If I have to, I'll just buy something and try it out - bur I was hoping someone might have some helpful experience to share. As for...

    Question on 'dropped chain'?

You could answer the question without mocking. Primary purpose is the occasional light-utility use of the bike, riding in jeans or other normal attire without having to fuss around with a slap-strap, as one might do on a Vado SL - which comes with a bash ring / guard albeit 4-bolt.

    Question on 'dropped chain'?

Edit - yes I know all about using a slapstrap around my pants leg or sock-over and the various other workaround. Hoping to improve on those. Speaking of chainrings, any recommendation on a compatible bash guard / bash ring for a 46T wide-narrow 5-bolt 110 BCD to put on my Creo? Wolftooth...

    Happy wife, Happy Life!

Sorry, I misunderstood your post. As for whomever put the pedals on the bike, I'd wager they just grabbed a pedal and put it on whichever crank it'd thread into without giving any thought as to whether the right pedal was on the right side and threading in the correct direction. Could be...

    Happy wife, Happy Life!

@mschwett why do you think it’d be difficult to put the crank arms on backwards on these? They’re identically splined and not directly connected to the spider. now a dose of TPS poka-yoke would design them otherwise, but that’s not where we are.

Powder coating wore off to metal on Turbo Vado 5.0

Unless it’s (most) stainless. :D A while back I touched up the rack on my Vado 4.0 with rustoleum rattlecan - worked great. Masked off everything but what needed paint. unfortunately I don’t recall if matte or satin and the can is 100 miles away.

Do I have my Range Extender installed correctly?

There’s also the possibility of individual unit variance during construction of the frame, as well as unit variance in the cable length.

Do I have my Range Extender installed correctly?

@eddief Why would Specialized change the distance between the charge port and seat tube bottle mounts? Seems the logical design would be keep them at the same distance, thus allowing more room above the mounts on larger frames? @Burning Matches Rotate the RE in the bottle mount so the cable...

Do I have my Range Extender installed correctly?

To dispel the suggestion of carbon/aluminum frame differences, my RE cable is just fine on my E5. Sure it's not wallowing in slack, but it fits just fine. I'd suggest OP look to whether a slight rotation provides a little more leeway, and also make sure the cable is fully seated in the...

2022 Vado - Flat tire while on kickstand

The 650b x 2.3 tires are a good bit taller than the space under the kickstand when the bike is upright, so a deflated tire would let it tip.

2022 Vado - Flat tire while on kickstand

Just note there's no adjustability with the stock Vado kickstand - would have to cut it or replace with an adjustable.

2022 Vado - Flat tire while on kickstand

Haven't had a flat behave like that, so haven't had anything like that happen. I have a Vado 4.0 and just had a look with a ruler. With the tire inflated, the rim sits about 2 1/4" off the floor, and if I tilt the bike upright the kickstand sits about 1 5/8" off the floor. If I continue to...

Turbo Vado 5 and Garmin RVR315

I'd expect internal differences since the standalone version has a battery, charging circuity, button, no direct-power cord, maybe other stuff. That said, my RTL515 seems to work identically whether it's mounted horizontally on my Vado 4.0 or vertically on my other bikes. If there's any...

Can One order Garmin Varias on 2022 Turbo Vado 4.0?

No, they use a Y cable, not sure what it looks like though https://support.specialized.com/turbovado/en/service-maintenance/replacement-parts

    New Garmin eRTL615 ebike radar

The key would be it getting 12V out of the bike via the Y. Then modify one of the other Garmin cables to plug into the leads. Or some enterprising soul will identify the connector Garmin uses and make an adapter cable to sell.

Specialized teases details of Globe Bikes sub-brand Cargo eBike

Couple comments on the bolded parts above. With most bicycles you're not really supposed to be able to touch the ground while on the seat. You get the best pedaling efficiency with your legs nearing full extension at the bottom of the pedal stroke, and so there needs to be room so you don't...

    New SL 1.2 motor revealed

I'll be more curious what it sounds like. :p I saw mention of 320W power, not clear if that was mixed up with battery capacity. If correct though, then that'd be a 33% increase from the existing 240W power. Haven't seen anything about assist level and whether it'll increase from 1.8x. To...

    New SL 1.2 motor revealed

Sure, it makes sense for the whole SL lineup to get the new motor. Only question is when. My guess would be a phased or differentiated rollout. e.g. perhaps the 5.0 models first see the new motor with the other models keeping the existing 1.1 for a while.

    New Garmin eRTL615 ebike radar

Remember that pricing for non-commodity products is far more related to the benefit to the buyer than the cost to make the product. Plus you're comparing the street price of a three year old product that Garmin's marked down by 25% to a newly announced product's MSRP.... This product seems...
