Wired says the Globe Haul ST is an all around winner

Thread title is rather misleading... the word "winner" doesn't appear in the cited article nor does the phrase "all around" Elsewhere, Wired claims the Tero X 4.0 as Best All-Around Bike

Creo turbo SL - how to measure actual wattage capacity of battery

Not really the best advice for all circumstances IMHO. Lithium ion batteries see an improved service life if they are stored at between 20-80% charge. If using sufficient battery to bring a full charge below 80% before storing then there's no reason not to charge fully. On the other hand, if...

    50T Creo Chainring

I tend to average in the high 80's for cadence. Particularly if I'm pushing rather than lollygagging. Spinning out on a 46T hasn't been an issue I've faced - from a gravel ride on my Creo E5 with 700x42's... :) Each to their own though.

    50T Creo Chainring

FYI - Specialized claims compatibility only up to 50T... See https://support.specialized.com/turbocreosl/en/features-compatibility/frames Is there a reason you're maxing out at 80rpm cadence? Wolftooth seems to have stuff come into and out of stock; I had to wait a week or two for the 46T...

Frame lock for 2022 Vado 5.0 (not SL)

5755L needed the wheel removed but not the fender since it’s a little smaller. wheel removal is easy to do, and you ought to practice at home anyway before you find you need to fix a flat away from home.

    Specialized/Brose motor failures?

I'm not sure what you're referencing here, but it occurs to me that a shop might say that to an overly troublesome customer they wish would go elsewhere? :p

Turbo Vado SL shop manual or exploded diagram available?

So what are the main differences in the motor/battery/downtube relationship between the three?

Turbo Vado SL shop manual or exploded diagram available?

I don't believe any of that has been made public. @Temoore48 posted about battery removal - which also involves motor removal - and may be able to answer questions. See https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/turbo-vado-sl-5-0-battery-removal-for-air-travel.50648/ I'm curious - what...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Your existing tires have the size imprinted on the sides. For a Vado SL EQ it's probably 700x38, and I'd just stick with that if you don't have a particular reason to change to a different size. Specialized Pathfinder Pro 2Bliss Ready is a good tire - and it supports being used tubeless...

New Vado SL 4.0 - harsh ride!

Just curious, @hankj, what tire pressure are you using and how does it relate to the recommendation from SRAM's tire pressure tool?

    Creo Road Remotes

The wire for the Vado handlebar remote is substantially thicker than the Creo remote wires, and clips to the even thicker brake hose. (in my prior reply I missed that you were talking about the Vado)

Nothing like that in the box with my remotes.

    New Model Release Dates?

Because having a bit of boost going up steep hills, especially after 30+ miles, takes away some of the suck. You're correct that everyone's different though; for some folks the current SL 1.1 motor is plenty and others would like a bit more power. I considered whether to buy a discounted...

Wow-Prices are down on E-Bikes on Specialized site!

Talk to your local dealer, the stock they order from is separate from the stock showing via the website. You may also plug in your size/color preference and see if any are in stock at stores within a reasonable drive.

Considering buying a Turbo Creo - Questions

According to his posts since this year-and-a-half-old question, it appears he bought the Creo.

Should I buy a Vado SL, or Wait for the Release of the Version with the 1.2 Motor?

Even if it came out today, I’d wait a few months before buying. I’m just always cautious about new/updated motors, whether in cars, boats, motorcycles, or bicycles. I’d rather let other folks test them a few months and shake out any early production bugs. Especially when repair parts might be...

Mission Control Versions-are our bikes "bricked"?

Why do you doubt this? In the Apple app store, Specialized is listed as the "developer" for both apps. While it's certainly possible SBC outsourced development to a third party, rather than manage an internal development team, that would have no bearing on SBC controlling the code base -- and...

    Mission Control and Garmin RTL515

I'd also note that the Varia RTL515 changes up the flash pattern temporarily when it first detects an approaching vehicle. I feel this aids in catching the driver's attention. As great as the Varia is though, a mirror remains a good complement. Varia doesn't tell me if the vehicle(s) are in...

Mission Control Versions-are our bikes "bricked"?

I was working at an ARPA-net connected university - retrieving weekly updated hosts.txt files 'cuz DNS didn't exist yet - before Al Gore reached the Senate. Ha, the good old days. I also had a set of AIX RS6000's I took care of for a while. Eventually I moved into the management realm to...
