    Creo Upgrades and Modifications

Pedals - unless you're in love with the reflectors on the T8000, I'd suggest Shimano EH500's instead. Front light - are you looking for daytime running light or nighttime lighting? For DRL the Bontrager ION 200 works well and can be mounted under a phone or computer mount using this go-pro...

Not sure that this info is published. I'd look at the specifications for the lights used on the Como SL and Vado SL models as guidance. If you find one which can be set to flash do let us know - that's the biggest reason I've not looked into this any further, I prefer the enhanced daytime...

Creo rear thru axle spinning out

Properly torqued threads shouldn't back out, though a little bit of blue loctite isn't bad insurance. If you have the kind with the lever, remove it and you can use a 12mm socket to torque the thru-axle to 15Nm, then reinstall the lever - ideally aligned with the a stay or the fork tube so you...

Don’t forget to factor in the wider handlebars (44cm vs 42cm), and 10 mm longer stem on the 58 versus 56. It’s also worth noting that the stem comes angled down, so you can easily flip it for more handlebar height. Some other differences in the two sizes are crank length, stand over height, and...

    Turbo Vado SL questions

The SL 1.2 motor is up to 2.3x rider power vs the SL 1.1 motor's 1.8x rider power. Effectively the 1.2 can provide 27% more assist than the 1.1 motor for the same rider input power. Marketing materials round both to 2x apparently. Per Specialized Support: As for @Nubnub's comments - yes if...

Apologize if this has been covered: Power micro tune on Creo with original TCU?

Nope. Not available on the earlier TCU. Only on newer bikes with the Mastermind TCU.

Myth BUSTED: "The Chain Drops On My Specialized E-Bike Because The Chainring Is Praxis WAVE"

On a proper narrow-wide chainring such as the Garbaruk and Wolftooth, you don't need to pay attention since the chain won't really fit the wrong way - the narrow chain gaps won't go onto the wide teeth.

Specifics of how it does so would be rather more helpful than a no-detail counterpoint. What specifically can you accomplish by dropping the seat a whole 50mm? It doesn’t appear to be enough movement to let me clear the seat to get down behind it on my M size frame

Yes, though my point was more that the downtube didn't change between Creo v1 & v2, and people didn't really have issues with the Creo1 on conventional 28-32mm tires AFAIK. While I didn't ride my E5 much with it's stock tires before putting 42mm tires on it (intended for gravel riding), it...

That makes no sense. The only appreciable weight gain on the Creo2 models relative to the non-EVO Creo1 models is from the Creo2’s wheels, tires, and dropper post. The non-EVO Creo1 models came with 28 & 30mm tires depending on model, with similar weights, and the ride on those is fine.

Question re: locking bike and concern for vandalism

I won’t claim to know your situations, but were I presented with those comments, I’d ask if they were going to guarantee the safety and security of my bicycle locked up outside. then when they stammer about not having any guarantee, I’d say that’s why I have it with me. I’d take a stand, force...

Question re: locking bike and concern for vandalism

Walk the bicycle into the store If you’re where this is a concern and you can’t lock it where you can see it. I’ve yet to have anyone say a thing.

Two different Turbo Vado SL 5.0s?!

I was thinking about this - on one hand it makes that they'd move the Vado & Como SL models to the 1.2 motor, but they'd also potentially be cannibalizing the Vado / Como 3.0 sales since the SL1.2 is pretty close to the motor in those. SL1.2 motor is 2.3x max assist & 320W peak, 2.0E motor is...

Vado 5.0 owners: what are you using for a lock?

You can add an easy third layer with the Abus plug-in chain, securing the bike to an object, or even securing a second bike between yours and the object.

    Tubeless tire experiences

I've done a lot of research on going tubeless, but haven't pulled the trigger on any of my bikes. The two primary benefits appear to be that being able to repair most flats at home instead of on the road, and the ability to run a little lower pressure thus providing more comfort. Downside is...

That’s how I ended up with my Creo E5. Looked closely at the Diverge for a gravel bike. Then the E5 price drop and for a little bit more I could get the E5 and take some of the suck off the steep climbs. For reference, much of my gravel riding is on forest service roads in NE Georgia USA with...

Myth BUSTED: "The Chain Drops On My Specialized E-Bike Because The Chainring Is Praxis WAVE"

They show it on their website. Are you suggesting that they ship something different than the advertised and pictured narrow-wide tooth pattern?

I can see how a 150mm travel dropper post would be useful in technical riding. Not so sure how a 50mm travel dropper post - less than 2 inches - would make an appreciable impact.
