The chainring on my Hydra is 42T. As per a post by Cuz Vinny, earlier bikes came with a 44T. This could explain the recent bout of chainstay damage.

Shifting is fine. Getting the smallest sprockets to hold enormous torque at speeds I shouldn't be going is the challenge. The skipping I'm referring to is when the chain jumps a tooth on the same sprocket. It's not jumping to another sprocket. I'm sure we're asking too much of bicycle components.

14 Ah is the capacity for 20-80% charge. We can certainly go beyond that. I think that setting is just conservative so the remaining capacity calculation doesn't leave you stranded. It can be changed to 17 Ah if you're feeling lucky. :)

The battery management system connects wirelessly by Bluetooth. The motor controller is separate and connects with the programming cable. You can even connect to the battery when it's removed from the bike.
