    Hydra has landed!

You're right. A larger chainring would give you less wrap around the cassette. I should have said the difference in that amount between 42T and 44T chainrings would be negligible. I didn't realize my derailleur hanger was bent during shipping until I put the M8100 on. I had to straighten it for...

Known Issues & Problems with Watt Wagons Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

You can hear the spark sometimes when you insert the battery. That is the huge inrush of current charging the capacitors on the motor controller. It's not great for the connector but should only effect the leading edge. I'd be more concerned if one of your contacts was stretched out more than...

    Hydra has landed!

I don't recall skipping complaints from the summer batch. I don't think they had the extra wide cassette. The chainring wouldn't affect cassette skipping.

Hydra in (semi)gloss black (Cerakote H109)

Cockpit cleanup day! - 2 finger brake levers - 500C display (version 5.2 and they still don't have the battery gauge scaling with the battery voltage setting)

    Hydra has landed!

The chainring on my Hydra is 42T. As per a post by Cuz Vinny, earlier bikes came with a 44T. This could explain the recent bout of chainstay damage.

    Hydra has landed!

That beats skipping constantly in the three highest cogs with the derailleur that came with the bike. We're all curious which derailler/casette combo you received. Ours were mismatched.

    Hydra has landed!

I was going 31 mph in sport 5 and pedalling as hard as I could when the skip happened. BikeComponents.ca has a few.

    Hydra has landed!

I tested the M8100 derailleur with the 11-51T cassette. I could only make the 11T skip once on two passes before the battery hit the 50 amp shut down. The B screw is adjusted closer than recommended. This is only a problem if you're pedalling slowly and downshift 4 gears at once causing the cage...

    Hydra has landed!

I have an M8100 derailleur coming this week so we can compare notes. A month of rain has left our ground saturated. I'm waiting for it to freeze so I can ride off-road again!

    Hydra has landed!

Shifting is fine. Getting the smallest sprockets to hold enormous torque at speeds I shouldn't be going is the challenge. The skipping I'm referring to is when the chain jumps a tooth on the same sprocket. It's not jumping to another sprocket. I'm sure we're asking too much of bicycle components.

    Fat Hydra Lives!!!

@Cuz Vinny, how are you liking the backsweep angle on the Milhouse? I like the full width of the ProTaper but my wrists don't like the angle.

    Hydra has landed!

I can cross reference electronic components with a dozen parameters but working out compatibility within a single line of bike components drives me crazy. I'll probably just go with a Box Components Prime 9 ebike drivetrain package when the time comes. I ordered my Hydra with 1000W. I assume it...

    Hydra has landed!

I readjusted the B-screw with the 51T sprocket out of the equation. I could no longer make the 15T sprocket skip. The 13T sprocket still skipped. This is, of course, with the most punishing conditions possible. Accelerating in a high gear from 10 to 30 mph, 2300 watts plus my input. I think...

    Hydra has landed!

@loamoaf, I believe you are correct. My derailleur looks like the MT8000 and no adjustment will eliminate the chain skipping the 11, 13 & 15T sprockets at high speed. Only the Garbaruk is in stock, but I'm not a fan of aluminum for a part that gets bent easily. I'll give up my 51T sprocket...

Archon X1 Programming Thread (questions and experiences)

You'll need to get a registration email address from WW. You'll get a download link at that time. They're currently looking into why it's taken Innotrace over a week to activate my account. I'm the meantime, you can watch the tutorial video.

    Hydra has landed!

14 Ah is the capacity for 20-80% charge. We can certainly go beyond that. I think that setting is just conservative so the remaining capacity calculation doesn't leave you stranded. It can be changed to 17 Ah if you're feeling lucky. :)

Hydra in (semi)gloss black (Cerakote H109)

The battery management system connects wirelessly by Bluetooth. The motor controller is separate and connects with the programming cable. You can even connect to the battery when it's removed from the bike.

Hydra in (semi)gloss black (Cerakote H109)

Pushkar and Acme have posted the iOS versions. The Android version on the Google Play store is useless. A quick search found the full Android version.

Hydra in (semi)gloss black (Cerakote H109)

No, they're from the BMS Bluetooth app. You have to sideload a sketchy app from a sketchy website and not touch any settings that would destroy your battery. You've been warned.

Firm up a Magura brake without a bleed kit

I initially tried the vacuum syringe method too but couldn't get a good seal and actually made the brake worse. Working the brake lever to draw in oil was a last-ditch attempt and I'm surprised it worked.
