Thought I'd throw this in here for anybody else interested in this subject, covers some of what's been discussed.

    Shimano STePS E8000 owners?

Makes me wonder if you couldnt program the walk mode to work as full power?! Saw where someone put a magnet on the crank and moved the sensor to read the spinning crank arm instead of the wheel to get more than 20mph.

Interesting .. didn't think about needing different gears for walk assist but that would work well for different grades.

    Shimano STePS E8000 owners?

I'll experiment with that on my current ebike but after thirty plus years it's second nature to blindly use a shifter.

My current ebike has the button type shift, have yet become used to it, should be no need to have to look at anything except the trail.

    Shimano STePS E8000 owners?

Found doing a Google search. Hopefully that's the case with the one I'm looking at. "It’s incredibly straight forward to activate walk assist. Just press and hold the bottom button on the left switch unit until ‘walk’ appears on the display, then press the bottom button again to activate."

That screen looks good too.. nice and protected also good if you to have to set the bike upside down on the bars too fix a flat on the trail.

    Shimano STePS E8000 owners?

Good article. I like the "paddle shift remote to switch between modes" set up sounds ideal to me rather than pushing buttons also the battery range being the winner. I think I read somewhere it has a walk assist mode?? which if true is important to me..

    Shimano STePS E8000 owners?

Thanks all... I should have mentioned my use will be mtbing so the climbing is the main concern. The programming sounds very useful. Have heard the motor not cutting out during shifting is hard on the components (chain, gears) so I'd be thinking about that when shifting and might be more of a...

Interested in it's climbing ability but also features you like and dislike.

Don't take your hands off the handlebars of your ebike !

You might find that it becomes a factor if you haven't rode a lot off road though I notice it on the road when turning, leaning a little more into the turn helps but on the trail you need a quick response steering and not just for turns many times it's a series of small turns back and forth as...

The WW sounds interesting but carbon (luna included) is not my choice. Sound is a factor and I have decided if it's annoying to do the quiet gear if need be. Really just trying to get more general feedback like yours on the motor.

The BBS02 is appealing to me more so than the m600. I need a full suspension sub 60lbs (preferably low 50s) bike and doing my own build is not out of the question but would prefer an integrated battery. I don't have a bike I want to convert regardless so the cost ends up more than I want to pay...

Have you thought about getting a set of narrower rims for the flame? I'm wanting to get away from my 4" tire wheel set up. All that spinning weight makes it far from agile.

This has a sound comparison of the ultra vs m600 at 31:30 - 40:00 but then he states the video makes it sound louder. BTW what bike do you have?

Have seen some other videos where they test is similar and the pedals spin but if something interferes they will stop. It has a freewheel.. This is a better test imo and not loud enough to make me lose interest.
