Step over or step through for men?

I wish I had the nerve to go out and do this. She looks great out there!

Step over or step through for men?

I’m a she, so I’d be great with a step through no matter what- I’ve no pictures, so it’s not apparent. And I didn’t realize it at the time because Adrenaline kicked in and I wanted to get the heck off the road and all the drivers who were gawking at me (a couple did ask if I was ok). Now my...

Step over or step through for men?

I had a fall this morning (again) because I was starting my bike across an intersection at an awkward angle and my heel caught on the chainstay. I have an emtb but I think my next bike will have to be a step through, as I’m just not as coordinated as I used to be and will need to get off and...

Step over or step through for men?

I’m looking for a step through for my fiancé. They make them in guy colors now. As you age, it’s harder to swing your leg over a step over than you’d think. And you’ll be stopping and going in traffic, don’t forget.

Serious bike on bike crash. Head on.

We have a bike path like the first one, but it isn’t nearly as pretty. It looks more like a bike freeway. And of course, we share with walkers, though it’s not hugely crowded. Actually, my favorite place to ride fast is some of our half built planned communities. There are long, wide bike lines...

Serious bike on bike crash. Head on.

Also, there was a recently settled lawsuit by the City of Tacoma after an older man hit a bollard (White, so it was tough to see) and became a quadriplegic https://www.thenewstribune.com/news/local/crime/article180086061.html

Serious bike on bike crash. Head on.

Horrifying. I hope the gentleman makes a full recovery. I’ve said it before and I’m sorry to be repetitive. It’s not just speed, although that contributes. I’d rather deal with a fast rider that keeps a straight line, has good control of the bike, and knows what they’re doing. It’s the oblivious...

    Hello from Los Angeles California

Enjoy your bike, and your riding. For me, there’s something about being outdoors that just can’t be matched in a gym. And San Diego has the perfect climate for year round riding. Even here in the Inland Emoire, we’ve been very lucky with our riding weather so far. I’m sure 105 degree days will...

Biking is painful: e-biking is NOT

People ride bikes for so many different reasons- transportation, fun, adventure, athletic competition, fitness, all of the above at once. If you’ve ever dedicated yourself to getting competitive at a sport, it’s tedious, painful, frustrating (there’s always someone better than you who makes it...

    My buddy crashed yesterday

I look at it this way- I’m taking some risk every time I go out on a bike, but I could die slowly in a recliner in front of the TV set, too. We all worry about cars, but statistically, a lot of bike injuries involve crashing into things (I suppose they include mtb there). Trees, fences...

    ebike insurance

I have velosurance. It’s pricey. To cover my ebike costs as much as $40,000 worth of renters insurance. It does give you a ride if you get stranded (AAA) will do this too, and $50,000 worth of liability insurance for a bike related accident. That will barely cover a trip to urgent care for a...

    Luna's new bike

The people who scare me are the ones who can’t hear me (because they have headphones stuffed in their ears) and hog the entire path, and the middle age or younger guy on a beach cruiser or bmx,; usually the seat is too low, they are pushing too high a gear, or don’t have gears, and are...

Biking is painful: e-biking is NOT

I ride every day, and I try to push hard. I just like to. There are a lot of hills where I live, and my ebike makes what would be unbearable into just uncomfortable. And for every uphill there’s a downhill. There are mornings when I wake up feeling kind of “beat up”, and I take a break, or a...

Looking for feedback on a few models

If you want to go with Bosch, and you want something with more of a kick, then you’re looking at the 350W Performance Line motor. My bike has one of these, but to get one, you’re looking at a jump in price, and possibly a more agressively styled bike. I’m really happy with my bikes hill...

Another twist to throttle vs PAS ebikes....Comments wanted...

I agree about the Bosch Motor. I have the Performance Line speed motor. Forget and leave it in sport or turbo after climbing and you get what I can only describe as a good sized shove. Like you were a little kid and mom or dad pushed the back of your bike to get you started.

Another twist to throttle vs PAS ebikes....Comments wanted...

I love my PAS ebike, but I can see where a throttle could come in handy at times. Like starting, or getting across an intersection. I’m trying to get my fiancé on an ebike so that he can share my adventures, but he’s a little intimidated, and I think he’ll only consider a bike with throttle...

    I hate your ebike...

It depends on what type of shape you are in to begin with. I am a woman in her 60s with scoliosis, degenerative disc disease, and arthritic knees. Your fancy road bike and superior athleticism are out of my reach for many reasons. I get a damn good workout on my ebike, and it feels like an iron...

I don’t know. My legs will tell you that they’re still paying the iron price.
