Evo Street 2016 Throttle whil in power assist.

Just hold the + button for a couple seconds and keep holding. This is a walking assist mode meant to help you push the bike up steep hills. I've actually used it in rough terrain and nearly 45 degree ridges. It's not a "throttle" really. I guess you still can't use the twist throttle in any...

Has anyone had to replace their motor?

A Neo wheel costs nearly 600 USD though. I for one dread the day I have to start sourcing parts for the rear wheel, manufacturing special tools to open the motor etc.. all without the help of youtube videos or service manuals. I understand BH and the dealers want to make a living too, but...

Nitro 48v battery on Neo 36v bikes.

Is your motor Dapu, TDCM or other? I forget what motors Neos use. You can buy the whole rear wheel pre-assembled but it costs around $600. Dapu does sell spare cogs for the internal planetary gear, but I don't know if BH lists them as spares even for their dealers. The plastic gears would only...

New Tires for the Jet and we went BIG

And as always, be extra careful with the wiring poking out of the axle. Here is an example of what is needed if a Neo rear hub is dropped so the axle cuts the motor wires. I noticed these guys had also detached the torque arm, but all you need to do is wiggle or whack the wheel a little to...

New Tires for the Jet and we went BIG

If anyone is wondering why a tiny wrench-like bit of steel (torque arm) is important: the rotational torque (and hundreds of lbs of splitting force) of the axle is caught by the steel torque arm and the load is transferred to the end of the arm where it is secured by a bolt. The leverage...

New Tires for the Jet and we went BIG

I don't quite see what's going on there. Looks like the bolt that holds the torque arm, goes through the threaded frame eyelet and into the brake caliper bracket is not in the threaded hole? Is the caliper bracket loose on the right side? That's dangerous...

New Tires for the Jet and we went BIG

I didn't quite get which threads did you strip? The plastic slivers are just paint chips from the torque arm, which is normal, and the arm itself is merely a more precisely machined and hardened slot/dropout for the flat sided axle to sit in, so it doesn't remove/gall material from the softer...

    Evo 29'er, My New Bike

Any "resistance" (or rolling drag) from a geared hub motor like the Dapu that BH use, is an illusion created by the huge contrast between the ease of assisted pedaling and without. I've often felt this illusion myself, but the bike rolls beautifully with smooth Big Apple tires, and there is...

    Evo 29'er, My New Bike

My European, early 2015 Evo 29er does not have a mounting plate for a kickstand. It sure is a welcome addition by BH though. BTW here's how I secured the bottom end of my full fender.

Grin Technologies Cycle Satiator charger on BH?

The XLR connector is a great idea! Do you generally charge via the on-frame port or do you take the battery off the frame? What sort of amperage does the battery / BMS accept? I suppose there are separate charge ports and discharge ports on the battery, and the frame port is a charge port. The...

Grin Technologies Cycle Satiator charger on BH?

I was looking into the excellent programmable charger from Grin Tech, their Cycle Satiator, which would enable me to set the target voltage to say 85% each time. This could as much as double the life of the insanely expensive BH 12Ah battery, which is probably rated at 500-600 half-charge cycles...

Evo 29er: the hunt for a second wheelset and/or new rims

Those spokes seem ok superficially, though hopefully they arent just "steel" but stainless as one would expect. I've had no spokes snap on my bike after 3500km of riding, and I've done some rough trails too, even had a couple pinch flats and took a spill once, so experience seems to vary with...

Evo 29er: the hunt for a second wheelset and/or new rims

I've been trying to source spare matching rims for my Evo 29er, in case I needed them in the future, and was also planning to build another wheelset with a wider rim than the original 18c internal diameter, including buying a complete new rear wheel with motor (which turned out to be more...

How do i delimit my EVO Cross? Is it simple to do for a novice?

I can't get an answer from the dealers on buying a US rear wheel or a Nitro wheel. Some say no, some won't respond. Ok, if BH has scared them out of talking to users who want to "mod" their bikes, fine, but as a person who paid a lot of money for a product, and has had nothing but good things to...

How do i delimit my EVO Cross? Is it simple to do for a novice?

I already have an EU spec Evo, and while I was considering buying the new Nitro 29er, I'd still like to get more out of my current bike. While putting on my winter tires the other day, I was thinking how nice it would be to have another set of wheels, and it would be great for the second motor...

How do i delimit my EVO Cross? Is it simple to do for a novice?

    3. If swapping out the rear wheel would give 32-34km/h speed, that would be an easy and safe mod, even if the controller would still limit the power to a nominal 250W. But from what I've read, BH ask for the serial number of your bike and wont sell incompatible parts, or even matching parts...

How do i delimit my EVO Cross? Is it simple to do for a novice?

There are threads about this, and this is one of the first thoughts any 25km/h Easy Motion owner has. It's nigh impossible, and nobody seems to really have the answers. It was suggested that you need to swap out the EU spec motor with an NA one to achieve 32km/h, but nobody knows, and it's not...

Fenders for Evo 29er, a monster.

Glad to share! They can be a tad smaller than the tube diameter on the shocks, but still work great. Especially on the Rockshox XC32 that has thicker sliders, the clamps are tight, but also slim enough to fit between the shock and the brake disc, where a rubber padded steel clamp wont.
