Known Issues & Problems with Easy Motion Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

I remove my 2015 29er wheel the same way as J.R., but I flip my bike on it's handle bars onto an old couch cushion (remove the display!), add wooden blocks at the very ends of the grips near the locker rings. Flip the rear derailleur to the smallest sprocket, then undo the axle ratchet bolts...

Easy Motion / EVO display broken clip fix

Speaking of the mount, the design could use some improvement too. It has a tendency to crack in half on the side where the wires enter the body, and the way it clamps onto the handlebars causes the body to bend and crack on the right side. The display with its springy contacts still works...

Known Issues & Problems with Easy Motion Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

The little clip that holds the display on, or rather the backside of the corresponding notch snapping off is a known issue, although it took 2,5 years and hundreds of remove-mount cycles to happen for me. Here's my fix...

    User manual says....

The assist levels used to be (off) eco, standard, sport, boost. Later these were replaced with percentages. I guess there's an error in wording of the manual, where it used to say "boost" has the highest level of assist. And it does, though it's barely noticeable from sport.

Easy Motion / EVO display broken clip fix

Coming up on 10,000 km on my 2,5 year old BH Evo 29er, I managed to finally break the little notch under my display that the mount clips onto. Luckily I heard it crack so I found the little pieces that fell off. I tried just gluing it first but I suppose the type of plastic and regular superglue...

Winter battery cover FLIR One measurements.

Thanks for the heads up. Dropbox changed their policy and no longer allow HTML rendering of files on their service. I've now fixed the links.

Winter battery cover FLIR One measurements.

Here's another set I took on the topic of charging with the cover on. Made sure to take the cover off while 3,5 hours had passed but the charging was still steaming ahead, not trickling at the very end of a charge (when the charging light is still red but the charger cools down). The FLIR is...

    2017 Easy Motion Bikes

Showing the "speed hack" in an official video is interesting. And the warning/disclaimer seems to be aimed at the end user, even though this is clearly not an end user diagnostic tool and cable. It's possibly only meant for the 48V Evo bikes, if they really are limited in software somehow...

    2017 Easy Motion Bikes

Nice to see worthy upgrades to the line. I understood the batteries are now in an extruded aluminium shell, which is certainly beneficial in hotter climates.

    Noises and Vibrations

I did the same as J.R. to my rattling 2015 Evo controller, but I cut thin strips from the felt side of a sticky back velcro tape. Made a ring around the controller near both ends, then added a chair leg floor protector sticker to the bottom facing the plastic cover.

How do i delimit my EVO Cross? Is it simple to do for a novice?

There is no easy way to delimit these internally geared hub motor bikes. They're like glorified cordless power drills, where the internal gearing of the motor coupled with the voltage of the battery equal maximum rpm. The motor spins the wheel directly, so system DC voltage + internal gearing...

Easy Motion Street: System Power Cuts Out

Error 9 can be something as simple as holding the wheels against a wall, curb, deep sand / snow, and adding any pressure through the pedals without holding the brake motor cutoff. The rear wheel isnt turning while the motor is trying to (slightly), which brings up the motor blocked error, as if...

    2017 BH Easy Motion Lineup

Court posted his video. Interesting details. New Evo batteries are built into an extruded aluminium case, so I suppose no backward compatibility (though the rep sorta skipped Courts question on that). The new Dapu motors have a standard 12mm thru axle. I guess the skewer slips past the motor...

    2017 BH Easy Motion Lineup

Thanks Ravi! If you get the chance, please try a Revo battery on a 2015 36V Evo (voltage should be printed on the battery and the hub motor shell). If the battery shell and connectors are the same, it should work. Aside from the colors not matching the frame exactly, this would be a far better...

    2017 BH Easy Motion Lineup

Users have reported a boost in performance/torque with the 48V battery, so this would mean more watts produced by the motor, not just a higher RPM. 36 times 15A is 540W, and 48V times 15A would be 720W, which would be a 25% increase in power. The higher voltage also drives the motor with more...

    2017 BH Easy Motion Lineup

The 48V battery can also cause display glitching and possible motor overheating in hot weather. Where the new 500Wh Bosch batteries are fully backwards compatible, the BH batteries are only partially, if even that. I for one am not going to scrap my $3000 bike every three years just to get the...

    Evo 29er rear wheel spokes

What do you mean? Wellgo pedals never have proper bearings to begin with :D They feel like there's steel shavings inside the races from new. I replaced mine after about 2000km with proper brand name platform pedals.
