Loose Motor on Como 2.0 UPDATE: Cracked Frame (Vados too)

Bummer. I am sorry to hear you are not happy, but I do understand. I purposely looked for a 2019 model because of the down-tuning of the motor, the reduction from 10 to 9 speeds, and the lower quality brakes. :(

    2021 Turbo Vado 4.0

Based upon the taillight, this Vado is a 2020 or 2021 model year, not 2019. The 2019 models had the little Supervova tailight with 3 small LEDs. It puts out a lot of light, but it is not the formal taillight that appears on this bike. I have 2019 and I can see your taillight is the newer model.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Just to back this up, in early April when I took my new 2019 Vado 3.0 to my LBS to have it assembled the owner told me he wished he had 25 of them. He has them ordered but won’t receive them until February 2022. That is 8 months from now, but 10 months from when he told me that. I know they...

Abus Cafe Lock Advice for Vado

I suppose it is possible to damage the spokes, but you would have to be really trying as your bike won't gain much speed in the 2 or 3 inches you can travel before hitting a spoke with the frame lock engaged. Based upon advice I saw here on this forum, I also purchased a set of ABUS locks keyed...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I have a lot of work to do to get in shape, but my long-term goal is to go on progressively longer rides as my strength and endurance build. Not bike touring or bike camping, but long enough rides that I would need a range extender, especially if I start riding in the Sierra foothills. I have...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

For me, I just wasn't riding my regular bike, so the e-bike was a motivator to get out and get exercise - and it has been. I now look forward to riding all around my little town early in the mornings on both Saturday and Sunday. Going early means it is still cool and there is very little...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I am short at just 5"5" tall, so I got the small frame size on my Vado 3. However, even with the small frame, it can still be a challenge getting on and off, and I am unable to use a trunk bag as I will hit it trying to mount and dismount. I usually use a curb or lean the bike a bit to the...

    Minimum "home maintenance" kit?

There are many here who have a lot more experience with e-bikes than I do, but I recommend a set of metric Allen wrenches, a set of metric box wrenches, a screwdriver set with both common and Philips heads, and perhaps even a set of Torx screwdrivers. Also a small torque wrench is probably in...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

Stefan, I only realized e-bikes were a thing a few months ago. I needed something like this 20 years ago when I was commuting by train to the San Francisco Bay Area, but there was nothing like this available. The best I could do back then was a 10-year old, and very banged-up, Toyota that I...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

I did not realize there was a way to order the ABUS keyed-alike locks on Propel's website so I called them and left a voicemail. It took a couple of tries, but they did call me back and I have now ordered a frame lock, a chain to add a bit more security, and a Bordo 6000 folding lock with the...

    New 2019 Turbo Vado 3.0

Hello to all of the members of this forum. I have been spying on all of you for the last couple of months as I tried to decide if I should get an e-bike and, if so, which e-bike. Thanks to all of the information available on-line and via this forum I decided to go with mid-drive vs. hub drive...
