Yes, I took mine off also and there are little gaps designed to be able to pull the end pieces out.

Thats strange as I find the non connected type easier as you do not need to remove the wheel or caliper to remove.

OK, so, I will give it another shot. So, where the fender is rubbing against the tyre, it is held in place either side of the wheel by two metal rods. These two metal rods go into two round "slots" near the centre of the wheel. The two rods are held in place in the slots by a single screw each...

Surely all you have to do is release the "rod" out a little bit by undoing the alien key and then tighten up.

Ah ok, so mine is 2020 but with the 1125 battery. That is why our charging ports are different.

Thanks, how strange. My SD has a plastic flap that goes over the charging port, not a rubber thingy. Do you have the 1125 or 1000 batteries as the 1125 on mine has the port relocated and it has a plastic flap that folds and clicks into place.

Thanks Jay, appreciated. Yes, I want a more linear assistance than emtb provides as I do not have the power to make the most of it. I remember on my KTM bike that the 3rd assistance level was a direct step up from the 2nd and I don't feel that with emtb.
