Major issue with 1 month old Juiced RCS - Video Attached - Bad bearings in rear wheel / motor ??

Well all I need is the motor / wheel, since the rest of it is fine. Nice that Trek stepped up and did that for you - pretty impressive on their part.

Major issue with 1 month old Juiced RCS - Video Attached - Bad bearings in rear wheel / motor ??

Yes - I don't know how they could really do better. I'm glad they didn't push for the repair - I think they were also sensitive to the time it would take (and hassle for me) to find a suitable box, send it out, wait for repairs, then wait for return shipping etc..., so that indicates to me they...

Major issue with 1 month old Juiced RCS - Video Attached - Bad bearings in rear wheel / motor ??

After Juiced viewed the video and I suggested an advance replacement with me being refunded the cost upon their receipt of the old wheel, they are sending one out. Unclear if it includes the tire, so I may have to change that over to the new wheel. Juiced has been responsive and I think is...

Major issue with 1 month old Juiced RCS - Video Attached - Bad bearings in rear wheel / motor ??

Thanks for the photos. I've removed the wheel from the bike. It doesn't have anything to do with derailleur or the chain as it still makes the noise w/out those parts of the drive train attached if you manipulate the cassette.

    RipCurrent S - Cruise control doesn't work ?

    Yes - I think so.

Major issue with 1 month old Juiced RCS - Video Attached - Bad bearings in rear wheel / motor ??

Its maybe not clear in the video but the only time any power is applied is at the end. As stated, no noise at all under power. Only when pedaling. Maybe the cassette cogs have their own bearing, because using the throttle all is fine. There has to be some kind of ratcheting one-way mechanism...

    RipCurrent S - Cruise control doesn't work ?

Actually, you can engage the cruise w/out pedaling (at least on my RCS). It's awkward ergonomically, but you can maintain your speed via throttle and then hold the "-" button - just like the manual says. Once I realized that the cruise control first goes through "Walk" before then engaging...

Major issue with 1 month old Juiced RCS - Video Attached - Bad bearings in rear wheel / motor ??

I have 145 miles on the bike, and never have ridden it off of paved roads or pathways yet. Check out the video below and turn up the volume. Video of rear wheel grinding noise when pedaling - With extremely moderate pedaling (hardly any torque, as you can see) with the bike tilted on the...

Occasional clunking on RipCurrent - Bottom bracket?

Good to know. Mine doesn't have any dirt on it yet to wipe off so that isn't the issue in my case. Have only ridden on paved trails so far.

    RipCurrent S - Cruise control doesn't work ?

A nice addition to the cruise control would be once it is set, the ability to bump up or down the speed in .5mph increments by using + - keys (dbl tap maybe). I know those keys currently would bring it out of cruise, but maybe could be changed to need a long press to do so. Have Yamaha...

    Initial Review on RipCurrent

Yes - I'm sure downhill It will be faster. Was assuming flat terrain.

Occasional clunking on RipCurrent - Bottom bracket?

I just changed my pedals and at first thought it was fixed but it isn't. I'll say I seem to hear the noise/noises less, so I think the cheap pedals may have been contributing their own occasional noise but it wasn't all of it. I could feel some slight play / wobble in the pedals that came with...

    RipCurrent S - Cruise control doesn't work ?

Thanks for the spelling tip - don't use the word (in either use case) so didn't bother to correct it. So the cruise control does in fact work - but it goes into walk mode first, with the walk icon coming on screen, and a glitch in power delivery to motor, but if you continue to hold the "-"...

    RipCurrent S - Cruise control doesn't work ?

I'll have to try again, but pretty sure it doesn't matter if I peddle or use throttle. I do know the manual for the bike / LCD control unit specifically states it doesn't matter if you reach the desired speed by peddling or using the throttle. I'll say I don't use the throttle much other than...

    RipCurrent S - Cruise control doesn't work ?

On my RipCurrent S I've had for about a month now, I just tried for the first time the Cruise Control. Seems you activate it just like you would the Walk mode - by pressing / holding the "-" key. Well it seems my bike just tries to go into Walk mode, even though I'm at 10 or 15 mph. Peddling...

    Initial Review on RipCurrent

Great review - thanks! I had a similar experience (I've had mine a month or so now I guess). Juiced was good about remedying a few small issues - nothing major at all. I'm curious about your speeds - It seems to me that mine completely stops assisting at 27.5, maybe 28 mph - I've never seen...

Occasional clunking on RipCurrent - Bottom bracket?

Thank you. I do notice a little play in the pedal spindles (not crank arms - pedals themselves). Not sure it's enough to make a noise but that would be an easy fix if that's it. Popped the dust cap off the pedal and to see about tightening the pedal on its spindle, but doesn't seem like a normal...

Occasional clunking on RipCurrent - Bottom bracket?

I notice it occasionally, and because the bike is normally so smooth it really stands out when I hear / feel it. Seems that it clunks once per pedal rev, generally, but sometimes I think there are multiple sounds, but I think each sound is made at more or less the same place in the pedal...
