15 MPH E-bike and Scooter speed limit announced for NY City by Mayor Adams

Seems OK to me in a city setting where there are crowds of people everywhere and you never know what they are going to do especially when their eyes are glued to their phones. One weird thing for me is the national park near where I live that has a series of gravel trails with lots of hills and...

    hair dryers

I saw something similar on a rerun of Two and a Half Men. It involved roller skates and a ramp. One teenage boy was in front of the ramp wearing roller skates after stuffing himself with baked beans and the other stood behind him with a butane torch. Didn't work as I recall.

Need Recommendation For A Lift To Work On Our Two Heavy Ebikes

That's just what I use and it works great. I can raise the bike a few inches to a few feet depending on what I'm doing. Got mine on Amazon and think it was about $25.

How do you all use your E-BIKES? Do you go out riding with friends or do you enjoy the experience on your own?

On my own. Roads and bike trails. Lucky to live just a few miles from a nice section of Acadia National Park that's not on the island. Several nice trails that are barely used even during tourist season. I can often ride those trails and see very few hikers or bikers and sometimes none at all.

Removeing throttle to be compliant and responsible

Same rule on park trails where I ride. I just unplug it when I ride those trails which converts class 2 to class 1.

    Sodium-ion eBike Battery Packs

I've never been concerned about battery fires or a little extra weight when it comes to Ebikes. I do like the abundance of sodium vs lithium though.

    Sodium-ion eBike Battery Packs

I would think it would depend on how much weight you're talking about.

E-bike price increase due to new Tariffs ( non political thread) anyone hear how much?

The cars could really make a difference too. EVs now are out of reach for most.

Does this forum need regional split?

I vote no. Anyone thinking about buying a bike should first know the rules in their area.

    gloves for stiff fingers

My fingers are starting to get a bit stiff and sore so was looking into compression gloves to help especially when riding. Has anyone tried those?

Trying to decide on my first ebike

Fat tire to me just means a more comfortable ride. The roads where I live are at best just good. No bike lanes. Lots of cracks and potholes and shoulders that are 6" drops in places if a car should force you off. All those things are better navigated with a fat tire with say 20lbs of pressure...

Total e-bike ban after a fatality in Key Biscayne, FLA

"there is no XXXVIIth amendment given the people the right to keep and bear e-bikes." There probably wouldn't have been a 2nd Amendment either if the authors had a crystal ball that could see the future.

    Ebike I want to pedal

All Ebikes are meant to be peddled. The best approach for exercise would be to use a low PAS. (pedal assist) and then raise it when tired. As far as ease of pedaling I think tires are more important than weight with thinner higher pressure being easier to pedal. On the other hand a fat tire...

Can't figure how to do it??

I'm old too so never grew up with these things or anything like them. I just went to the "what's new" section of EBR via Safari and then bookmarked the page. I'm sure it's basically the same with Firefox. I use a MacBook Air.

    Hearing aid user

My hearing has been bad for many years. I've tried the cheap over the counter rigs but they were all pretty bad. Recently I decided to go to Miracle Ear get properly tested and decided to go for a set of rechargeable BTH RIC aids. I'll be going back in a couple of days to pick them up. I'm...
