When I want the exercise I ride a pedal-only bike. No need for dead weight. Low gearing helps with the bad knees.

Have you taken a voltage reading of the discharge and charge ports? Sometimes the bms shuts down the battery. I've used a force charge (which I assume supplies a sufficient charge voltage) to turn the bms on. I have a Grin Satiator charger that will do this.

Hope Rad can keep it together. Early in the pandemic all ebikes here were Rads. Hated them then, though I was still doing pedal only. The world turns and now where I am most ebikes are Treks (there's a local Trek dealer.) Me, I ride with a smile astride mutant home-built ebikes. ;)

I do like that Tesoro Carbon, and I'd even buy one with the electronic shifter. But times is tough, so I'll stick with my full suspension mid-drive: 😂😂😂.

It looks like pretty much a standard down tube mount battery, as such I would look for a similar sized battery in that voltage and capacity along with its mounting cradle. Mount and wire up the new cradle, install battery. Depending on how the battery sits on the bike that should work for a non...

It doesn't sound like you are a serious biker, so anything that fits will probably work for you. I would avoid the cheapest stuff because you might end up with something of that is literally a piece of junk. That said, if you're handy you can work miracles, though that will take more money...

I too have turned away from heavy bikes. Though I have found that it's easier to achieve light when you ditch the motor.;)

High speed ebikes are already illegal in the US, unless registered as a motor vehicle. Do over twenty and you better be pedaling. Though, me thinks, some ebikers doing a speed run will pedal like crazy if they see a cop on their tail.

The price of building an ebike yourself isn't all that bad, providing you can build or procure a motor wheel, battery, and know how to solder and crimp. Plus, all the usual bicycle stuff, because if you build on a used bike it's best to rebuild it before you motorize it. And you might end up...
