    New Luna Fixed Stealth Owner

It's just common sense to ride an ebike for "short" commutes! Faster than a regular bike and less sweat to boot. A brief, flat ride on a hot day at slower speeds with no pedal assist still results in heavy perspiration, at least for me. Not only that, but such short commutes can be bad for...

Shimano steps is not a good choice (no spare parts for the drive)

AFAIK, Bosch is the only "Mainstream" ebike motor manufacturer that offers any parts for motor service, and it's limited to bearings (no electronics). If your torque sensor goes and your warranty's done, you're SOL - same with Shimano, Yamaha (mostly on Giant ebikes), and Brose (Specialized)...

Shimano steps is not a good choice (no spare parts for the drive)

Shimano e8000, e7000, and EP8 all use the same torque sensor, the failure of which is the primary cause of the E010 error. My e8000's sensor failed at ~2500 miles, and I took excellent care of it

how do you feel about the current regulatory system for e-Bikes in the US?

What makes me crazy is how my class 3 eMTB goes from being a bicycle on pavement to a motorized vehicle on "natural surfaces."

Now I know why my motor rusted.

That's a question for Michael at eBike Motor Repair. Send him a message, he's usually quick to respond

Shimano EP8 in a Yeti mountain bike

    You are indeed correct.

Shimano EP8 in a Yeti mountain bike

You can test it yourself on a ride - the motor will either cut off at 16 or 20 mph. It's unlikely that it's set for 15.5 if you bought it in the USA, so you should probably see if the shop can replicate the problem and remedy it anyway.

Shimano EP8 in a Yeti mountain bike

Best way to test that theory is to hit 16+ mph. Be glad you're not getting an error code, that could be the kiss of death

    Sondors Rockstar Damaged rear HUB

It may just be an intolerance between the through axle and the hub. Any chance your Cutthroat's thru axle is the same size as your Sondors'? If so, does it go on and out of the Sondors hub as smoothly as the Salsa's? That might tell you whether the Sondors' axle - or the hub - were poorly machined

The infamous Motobecane HAL E-MTB. I bought one…

I can't speak to the M600, but FWIW Fezzari has some interesting Shimano-powered eMTBs at 2020 price points: https://fezzari.com/collections/electricmtb

    Terrible IZIP Customer Support

I'd reach out to TranzX directly to see if they can provide support: E-BIKE SYSTEM: [email protected] I'd include the model year and that photo of the connector - the Zuma evolved Their N. American distributor is: Dialed Distribution LLC (916) 249-9665 [email protected] Note that...

    Terrible IZIP Customer Support

I'm not sure that the AliExpress charger referenced will work that iZip's battery. I have a 7 year old iZip Sumo, and while its connector also looks like a standard XLR, it's not. The iZip (TranzX) has a narrow pin in the middle that the XLR doesn't:

WTB Extra Battery Raleigh Redux IE, Tamland IE

Just spoke with "Mikey J" at Diamondback/ALTA Cycling - apparently RaleighUK just pulled the entire Raleigh lineup -electric and analog - from the US market! So it goes... Anywho, Mikey informed me that the battery for 2018-19 Brose-powered iZips and Raleighs ARE indeed available for $800...

    Yamaha PW-X speed sensor error

Everything ebike-part-related seems to be cheaper in the EU (and the rest of the world), but only if you're in the EU. Otherwise you must pay shipping and VATs, which add up to around what USA retail prices are. That's been my experience, anyway 🤷‍♂️

    Welcome to Disability and Ebiking

I've seen TSDZ2s listed that accommodate coaster brakes - is that what you're using? Or are there others?
