Took the TCU and a new packaged battery to the local Specialized-owned bike shop today. I assumed they'd have the right tools and be able to install new battery in a couple of minutes. Mechanic says has done 6 of them and only once was he able to get it out as has been described here. Instead he...
Think I will take the TCU out of the bike, bring it to the bike shop, and ask them to do the replacement...and show me how and with what tool they do it.
I tried today and could not get it out. Got the metal tab out of the way with a tiny tweezers that stayed in place by itself but could not get anything in there to get a fix on the battery. What would be that thin and with a surface rough enough to pull out on the battery?
I need to do this as my bike is one of the older ones. Wondering if you think it's possible to get needle nose pliers gripped around the sides of the battery and be able to sort of yank it out...even without depressing the spring piece on the top?
early on they were not available at all, then available as an add on, and now I think standard on all Creos. The buttons are still too small but way better than nothing.
Pretty sure the answer is yes. I think you can drain internal and RE together or separately when both are on the bike and I know you can use the RE by itself with no internal battery in the bike. But you can't charge the internal via the RE. May I suggest you get two RE batteries and sell off...
I have changed out my complete Di2 drivetrain and replaced it with SRAM 12 AXS GX. That means for travel and packing no extra wires to deal with. Oh also due to neck issues I have installed upright bars with the power button from a Levo. All works great.
There are two vids I know of that show how. One on a Creo and one on a Levo. If you could have taken an infrared vid of me doing it for the first time things would have looked very "hot" cuz I was concerned about killing my $10K bike dead. If I had to do it a second time I am guessing it would...
I don't have a trip planned yet. I am still a pretty strong rider and two RE batteries should serve me just fine. Today I rode 20 miles flat with no motor at all.
I am doing this experiment as I want to use my Creo for overseas travel. I have removed the internal battery and done a couple of test rides using just the extender. There is a rumor about that suggests the Extender batteries when used on their own have a tendency to drain quickly when at the...
I know there has been some discussion on this topic already but I am looking for specific experience of those who have taken RE batteries on an airplane. I know they are fine with carrying on multiple 100 watt/hour batteries and the regulations mention they allow 160 watt/hour batteries with...
my Northern California bike shop had a chain guide in stock. It installs by replacing one motor mounting bolt with the longer bolt that comes with the chain guide. The part looks like this: https://soshanger.com/SPECIALIZED-Road-chain-guide-CREO-SL
yes. They also make a Y connector that allows you to charge your bike and your extender at the same time.
